Centre Launches District-Led Textiles Transformation (DLTT) Initiative
On January 8, 2026, the Ministry of Textiles launched the District-Led Textiles Transformation (DLTT) initiative during the National Textile Ministers Conference held in Guwahati. This strategic program is designed to decentralize growth by focusing on specific district-level strengths to boost India’s textile exports and achieve a $350 billion industry goal by 2030. A significant highlight of the DLTT is the Purvodaya convergence in the eastern and northeastern zones. These regions are being prioritized for tribal belt development, improved connectivity, and Geographical Indication (GI) tagging for unique cultural handicrafts.
