India Launches NIDMS to Track Bomb Blasts Nationwide
On January 9, 2026, Union Home Minister Amit Shah virtually inaugurated the National Improvised Explosive Device Data Management System (NIDMS). This landmark digital platform is designed to be India's next-generation "security shield," providing a centralized repository for tracking and analyzing bomb blasts and IED (Improvised Explosive Device) incidents across the country. New regional hubs have been established in Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Ahmedabad, with a seventh hub now being set up in Ayodhya.
