1. India Launches ‘Varya’, Its First Indigenous Distilled Video AI Model

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), with support from the IndiaAI Mission, launched Varya, India's first indigenous distilled video AI model. Developed by Avataar.ai, the model dramatically reduces video generation cycles from 50 steps to just 4 steps through advanced AI distillation techniques. It supports both Text-to-Video and Image-to-Video generation while creating culturally relevant content based on Indian festivals, traditions, clothing, food, and regional diversity. The innovation is expected to benefit education, e-commerce, startups, and MSMEs by making AI-powered content creation more affordable and efficient.

2. Dinesh Trivedi Assumes Charge as India's High Commissioner to Bangladesh

Dinesh Trivedi assumed charge as India's new High Commissioner to Bangladesh after arriving in Dhaka on 12 June 2026. He succeeded Pranay Verma in the position. A veteran politician and former Union Railway Minister, Trivedi has also served as Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare. His appointment reflects India's continued commitment to strengthening diplomatic, economic, and strategic ties with Bangladesh.

3. India and France Elevate Ties to a Special Global Strategic Partnership

India and France elevated their bilateral relationship to a Special Global Strategic Partnership during French President Emmanuel Macron's visit to India in February 2026. The upgraded framework includes the ambitious Horizon 2047 Roadmap, a 25-year cooperation strategy covering space technology, defence, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, climate action, and Indo-Pacific security. The partnership further strengthens cooperation between ISRO and CNES and enhances collaboration in critical and emerging technologies.

4. World Bank Projects India as the Fastest-Growing Major Economy

The World Bank projected India's GDP growth at 6.6% in 2026, maintaining its position as the world's fastest-growing major economy. 5. India and Nepal Launch Cross-Border UPI-NPI Remittance Linkage

India and Nepal operationalised a real-time cross-border peer-to-peer remittance system by linking India's Unified Payments Interface (UPI) with Nepal's National Payments Interface (NPI). Implemented by NPCI International Payments Limited (NIPL) and Nepal Clearing House Limited (NCHL), the system enables secure and instant digital fund transfers between the two countries. The initiative is expected to boost financial inclusion, tourism, trade, and economic cooperation.

6. Assam and Nagaland Sign MoU for Oil and Gas Exploration

The Governments of India, Assam, and Nagaland signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding to facilitate oil and gas exploration along the Assam-Nagaland border. The agreement includes a 50:50 revenue-sharing mechanism and covers over 1,000 square kilometres of resource-rich territory. IIT Madras unveiled ANCHOR (Atlas of Neurochemical Characterisation of the Human Brainstem with 3D Reconstruction), regarded as the world's most detailed 3D atlas of the human brainstem. Developed by the Sudha Gopalakrishnan Brain Centre (SGBC), the atlas incorporates over 200 brainstem nuclei and fibre tracts. It combines MRI, histological, and neurochemical data into a unified platform, offering new opportunities for neuroscience research and improved understanding of neurological disorders.

8. Advanced Quantum and AI Labs Announced at MNIT Jaipur

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced the establishment of Advanced Quantum and Artificial Intelligence Laboratories at Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT), Jaipur. The initiative includes a Quantum Computing Lab focused on Quantum Key Distribution (QKD), quantum sensing, and quantum simulations. AI and Makers Labs have also been launched to encourage innovation in artificial intelligence, electronics, embedded systems, and semiconductor technologies.

1. भारत ने लॉन्च किया पहला स्वदेशी वीडियो AI मॉडल ‘Varya’

इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स एवं सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी मंत्रालय (MeitY) तथा IndiaAI Mission के सहयोग से भारत का पहला स्वदेशी Distilled Video AI Model ‘Varya’ लॉन्च किया गया। इसे Avataar.ai द्वारा विकसित किया गया है। यह मॉडल वीडियो निर्माण प्रक्रिया को 50 चरणों से घटाकर केवल 4 चरणों में पूरा कर देता है, जिससे लागत और समय दोनों में भारी कमी आती है। यह Text-to-Video और Image-to-Video दोनों प्रकार की सामग्री तैयार कर सकता है तथा भारतीय संस्कृति, त्योहारों, भोजन, वस्त्रों और क्षेत्रीय विविधताओं को ध्यान में रखकर कंटेंट तैयार करता है।

2. दिनेश त्रिवेदी ने बांग्लादेश में भारत के उच्चायुक्त का पद संभाला

पूर्व केंद्रीय रेल मंत्री दिनेश त्रिवेदी ने जून 2026 में बांग्लादेश में भारत के नए उच्चायुक्त (High Commissioner) के रूप में कार्यभार ग्रहण किया। उन्होंने प्रणय वर्मा का स्थान लिया। उनके पास लंबा राजनीतिक और संसदीय अनुभव है तथा उनकी नियुक्ति भारत-बांग्लादेश संबंधों को और अधिक मजबूत बनाने की दिशा में महत्वपूर्ण मानी जा रही है।

3. भारत और फ्रांस के संबंध बने ‘विशेष वैश्विक रणनीतिक साझेदारी’

फरवरी 2026 में फ्रांस के राष्ट्रपति इमैनुएल मैक्रों की भारत यात्रा के दौरान भारत और फ्रांस ने अपने द्विपक्षीय संबंधों को “Special Global Strategic Partnership” के स्तर तक उन्नत किया। इसके तहत Horizon 2047 Roadmap नामक 25 वर्षीय सहयोग योजना बनाई गई है, जिसमें रक्षा, अंतरिक्ष, कृत्रिम बुद्धिमत्ता, साइबर सुरक्षा, जलवायु परिवर्तन और इंडो-पैसिफिक क्षेत्र में सहयोग को बढ़ावा दिया जाएगा।

विश्व बैंक ने वर्ष 2026 के लिए भारत की GDP वृद्धि दर 6.6% रहने का अनुमान लगाया है। इसके साथ भारत विश्व की सबसे तेज़ी से बढ़ने वाली प्रमुख अर्थव्यवस्था बना रहेगा। रिपोर्ट में कहा गया है कि मजबूत घरेलू मांग, आर्थिक सुधार और निवेश वृद्धि भारत की अर्थव्यवस्था को मजबूती प्रदान कर रहे हैं।

5. भारत और नेपाल के बीच UPI-NPI भुगतान लिंक शुरू

भारत और नेपाल ने सीमा पार डिजिटल भुगतान को आसान बनाने के लिए UPI-NPI Cross-Border Remittance System शुरू किया। यह प्रणाली भारत के Unified Payments Interface (UPI) को नेपाल के National Payments Interface (NPI) से जोड़ती है। इससे दोनों देशों के नागरिक मोबाइल ऐप के माध्यम से तत्काल और सुरक्षित धन हस्तांतरण कर सकेंगे।

6. असम और नागालैंड ने तेल एवं गैस अन्वेषण के लिए समझौता किया

भारत सरकार, असम सरकार और नागालैंड सरकार के बीच तेल एवं गैस अन्वेषण के लिए त्रिपक्षीय समझौता ज्ञापन (MoU) पर हस्ताक्षर किए गए। यह परियोजना असम-नागालैंड सीमा क्षेत्र में 1,000 वर्ग किलोमीटर से अधिक क्षेत्र को कवर करेगी। समझौते के अनुसार प्राप्त राजस्व को दोनों राज्यों के बीच 50-50 के अनुपात में बाँटा जाएगा।

7. IIT मद्रास ने लॉन्च किया ANCHOR ब्रेन एटलस

IIT मद्रास के Sudha Gopalakrishnan Brain Centre (SGBC) ने ANCHOR (Atlas of Neurochemical Characterisation of the Human Brainstem with 3D Reconstruction) नामक विश्व का सबसे विस्तृत 3D मानव ब्रेनस्टेम एटलस प्रस्तुत किया। इसमें 200 से अधिक ब्रेनस्टेम न्यूक्लियाई और फाइबर ट्रैक्ट्स का विवरण शामिल है। यह एटलस न्यूरोलॉजिकल रोगों के अध्ययन और बेहतर निदान में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाएगा।

8. MNIT जयपुर में स्थापित होंगी क्वांटम और AI लैब

केंद्रीय मंत्री अश्विनी वैष्णव ने मालवीय राष्ट्रीय प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान (MNIT), जयपुर में उन्नत क्वांटम कंप्यूटिंग और कृत्रिम बुद्धिमत्ता (AI) लैब स्थापित करने की घोषणा की। इस पहल के तहत Quantum Key Distribution (QKD), Quantum Sensing, Quantum Simulation तथा AI आधारित अनुसंधान को बढ़ावा दिया जाएगा। साथ ही Makers Labs भी स्थापित की जाएंगी, जिससे छात्रों को व्यावहारिक नवाचार और अनुसंधान के अवसर मिलेंगे।
