1. IIIDEM Celebrates Its 15th Foundation Day in New Delhi

The India International Institute of Democracy and Election Management (IIIDEM) celebrated its 15th Foundation Day in New Delhi. Established in 2011 as the training and research wing of the Election Commission of India, IIIDEM has trained over 1.2 lakh participants from 142 countries through nearly 1,900 capacity-building programmes. The celebration also featured discussions on election management, institutional capacity building, and strengthening democratic governance at both national and international levels.

2. New Forester Moth Species Discovered in Karnataka

Researchers from the Zoological Survey of India (ZSI), in collaboration with the Natural History Museum, London, discovered a new species of forester moth named Mimeusemia kali in the Kali Tiger Reserve of Karnataka. This is the first new addition to the Mimeusemia genus in nearly three decades. The discovery enriches India's biodiversity records and highlights the ecological importance of the biodiversity-rich Western Ghats.

3. France to Inaugurate Its First Traditional Stone Hindu Temple

France is preparing to inaugurate its first traditional stone-built Hindu temple in September 2026. Built under the guidance of the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha, the temple has been constructed using hand-carved stones from India. The project represents a major milestone for the Indian diaspora in Europe and reflects the growing cultural and spiritual ties between India and France.

4. Scientists Develop Advanced Electrolyte for Zinc-Ion Batteries

Scientists at the Institute of Nano Science and Technology (INST), Mohali, developed a new electrolyte additive called BDIM to improve the efficiency and lifespan of Aqueous Zinc-Ion Batteries (AZIBs). The innovation helps minimise corrosion, suppress hydrogen evolution, and prevent zinc dendrite formation, making these batteries more reliable for renewable energy storage and large-scale power backup applications.

5. Indian Air Force to Participate in Exercise Pitch Black 2026

The Indian Air Force (IAF) will participate in Exercise Pitch Black 2026, a multinational air combat exercise hosted by Australia from 20 July to 7 August 2026. The exercise will involve more than 100 aircraft from 20 participating nations and aims to improve interoperability, operational coordination, and combat readiness among friendly air forces across the Indo-Pacific region.

6. Deepti Sharma Equals Record for Most Wickets in Women's International Cricket

Indian all-rounder Deepti Sharma became the joint-highest wicket-taker in women's international cricket after claiming her 355th international wicket during the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026. With this achievement, she equalled the record held by Jhulan Goswami and Katherine Sciver-Brunt, further strengthening her place among the greatest bowlers in women's cricket.

7. India and the Netherlands Hold Fourth Cyber Dialogue

India and the Netherlands conducted the 4th India–Netherlands Cyber Dialogue in New Delhi under their Strategic Partnership Roadmap (2026–2030). Discussions focused on cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence governance, Digital Public Infrastructure, cybercrime prevention, data protection, and cooperation between Computer Emergency Response Teams (CERTs). The dialogue reaffirmed both countries' commitment to strengthening digital resilience and secure cyberspace.

8. Jan Kalyan Shivir Initiative Launched Across Delhi

The Jan Kalyan Shivir outreach programme was launched across 42 locations in New Delhi to improve public access to various Central and State Government welfare schemes. Along with citizen service camps, the initiative included a large-scale Yamuna River cleaning campaign across 28 ghats, promoting better governance, environmental conservation, and efficient public service delivery.

9. UPI Launched at Galeries Lafayette in Nice, France

India's Unified Payments Interface (UPI) was introduced at the Galeries Lafayette department store in Nice, France, through a partnership between NPCI International Payments Limited (NIPL) and Lyra Collect. The expansion enables Indian tourists to make seamless digital payments abroad and further strengthens the international presence of India's digital payment ecosystem.

10. Bihar Receives Record Railway Allocation and Exports 51st Locomotive

Bihar received a record railway budget allocation of more than ₹10,000 crore, supporting several railway infrastructure projects across the state. In another major achievement, the Marhowrah Locomotive Factory exported its 51st locomotive to Guinea, reinforcing India's railway manufacturing capabilities under the Make in India initiative and expanding its global export footprint.

11. World Crocodile Day Observed on 17 June

World Crocodile Day is observed every year on 17 June to raise awareness about the conservation of crocodiles, alligators, caimans, and gharials. Established in 2017 by the Crocodile Research Coalition and the Belize Zoo, the day highlights the ecological importance of crocodilians and encourages conservation, habitat protection, research, and public education worldwide.

1. नई दिल्ली में मनाया गया IIIDEM का 15वाँ स्थापना दिवस

India International Institute of Democracy and Election Management (IIIDEM) ने नई दिल्ली में अपना 15वाँ स्थापना दिवस मनाया। वर्ष 2011 में चुनाव आयोग के प्रशिक्षण एवं अनुसंधान संस्थान के रूप में स्थापित IIIDEM ने अब तक 142 देशों के 1.2 लाख से अधिक प्रतिभागियों को लगभग 1,900 प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रमों के माध्यम से प्रशिक्षित किया है। इस अवसर पर चुनाव प्रबंधन, लोकतांत्रिक संस्थाओं को मजबूत बनाने और क्षमता निर्माण पर विशेष सम्मेलन भी आयोजित किया गया।

2. कर्नाटक में खोजी गई नई फॉरेस्टर मॉथ प्रजाति

भारतीय प्राणी सर्वेक्षण (ZSI) और Natural History Museum, London के वैज्ञानिकों ने कर्नाटक के काली टाइगर रिजर्व में Mimeusemia kali नामक नई फॉरेस्टर मॉथ (पतंगा) प्रजाति की खोज की। लगभग तीन दशक बाद Mimeusemia वंश में यह नई प्रजाति दर्ज की गई है। यह खोज भारत की जैव विविधता को और समृद्ध बनाती है तथा पश्चिमी घाट के पारिस्थितिक महत्व को दर्शाती है।

3. फ्रांस में बनेगा पहला पारंपरिक पत्थर का हिंदू मंदिर

फ्रांस में सितंबर 2026 में पहला पारंपरिक पत्थर से निर्मित हिंदू मंदिर उद्घाटित किया जाएगा। BAPS स्वामीनारायण संस्था द्वारा निर्मित इस मंदिर के सभी पत्थरों को भारत में तराशकर फ्रांस ले जाकर स्थापित किया गया है। यह मंदिर यूरोप में भारतीय संस्कृति और आध्यात्मिक विरासत के विस्तार का महत्वपूर्ण प्रतीक माना जा रहा है।

4. मोहाली के वैज्ञानिकों ने विकसित किया नई पीढ़ी का बैटरी इलेक्ट्रोलाइट

Institute of Nano Science and Technology (INST), मोहाली के वैज्ञानिकों ने BDIM नामक एक नवीन इलेक्ट्रोलाइट एडिटिव विकसित किया है, जो Aqueous Zinc-Ion Batteries (AZIBs) की क्षमता और जीवनकाल बढ़ाने में मदद करेगा। यह तकनीक जंग, हाइड्रोजन गैस बनने तथा जिंक डेंड्राइट की समस्या को कम करती है, जिससे ऊर्जा भंडारण प्रणाली अधिक सुरक्षित और प्रभावी बनती है।

5. ऑस्ट्रेलिया में होगा Exercise Pitch Black 2026

भारतीय वायुसेना Exercise Pitch Black 2026 में भाग लेगी, जिसकी मेजबानी ऑस्ट्रेलिया करेगा। यह बहुराष्ट्रीय हवाई युद्धाभ्यास 20 जुलाई से 7 अगस्त 2026 तक आयोजित होगा। इसमें 20 देशों के 100 से अधिक विमान भाग लेंगे। अभ्यास का उद्देश्य मित्र देशों की वायु सेनाओं के बीच समन्वय, युद्ध क्षमता और संयुक्त संचालन को मजबूत करना है।

6. दीप्ति शर्मा ने बनाया महिला क्रिकेट में ऐतिहासिक रिकॉर्ड

भारतीय ऑलराउंडर दीप्ति शर्मा ने महिला अंतरराष्ट्रीय क्रिकेट में अपना 355वाँ विकेट लेकर इतिहास रच दिया। इसके साथ उन्होंने झूलन गोस्वामी और कैथरीन स्किवर-ब्रंट के सर्वाधिक विकेटों के रिकॉर्ड की बराबरी कर ली। यह उपलब्धि महिला क्रिकेट में भारत की बढ़ती ताकत और दीप्ति शर्मा की निरंतर शानदार गेंदबाजी का प्रमाण है।

7. भारत और नीदरलैंड के बीच चौथा साइबर संवाद आयोजित

भारत और नीदरलैंड के बीच नई दिल्ली में चौथा साइबर संवाद (Cyber Dialogue) आयोजित किया गया। दोनों देशों ने साइबर सुरक्षा, आर्टिफिशियल इंटेलिजेंस, डिजिटल पब्लिक इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर, डेटा सुरक्षा, साइबर अपराध रोकथाम तथा CERT एजेंसियों के बीच सहयोग बढ़ाने पर चर्चा की। यह संवाद दोनों देशों की डिजिटल सुरक्षा साझेदारी को और मजबूत करेगा।

8. नई दिल्ली में शुरू हुआ जन कल्याण शिविर अभियान

नई दिल्ली में 42 स्थानों पर जन कल्याण शिविर अभियान की शुरुआत की गई। इस कार्यक्रम का उद्देश्य नागरिकों को केंद्र और राज्य सरकार की विभिन्न कल्याणकारी योजनाओं का लाभ एक ही स्थान पर उपलब्ध कराना है। इसके साथ ही यमुना नदी के 28 घाटों पर व्यापक सफाई अभियान भी चलाया गया, जिससे पर्यावरण संरक्षण और बेहतर नागरिक सेवाओं को बढ़ावा मिला।

9. फ्रांस के नीस शहर में शुरू हुई UPI भुगतान सुविधा

भारत की Unified Payments Interface (UPI) सेवा अब फ्रांस के नीस शहर स्थित प्रसिद्ध Galeries Lafayette स्टोर में भी उपलब्ध हो गई है। यह सुविधा NPCI International Payments Limited (NIPL) और Lyra Collect के सहयोग से शुरू की गई। इससे भारतीय पर्यटक विदेशों में भी आसानी से डिजिटल भुगतान कर सकेंगे और भारत की डिजिटल भुगतान प्रणाली को वैश्विक पहचान मिलेगी।

10. बिहार को मिला रिकॉर्ड रेलवे बजट, गिनी को भेजा 51वाँ इंजन

बिहार को इस वर्ष ₹10,000 करोड़ से अधिक का रिकॉर्ड रेलवे बजट आवंटित किया गया। साथ ही मरहौरा लोकोमोटिव फैक्ट्री ने गिनी को अपना 51वाँ लोकोमोटिव निर्यात किया। यह उपलब्धि Make in India अभियान को मजबूती देने के साथ भारत की रेलवे निर्माण क्षमता और निर्यात क्षमता को भी दर्शाती है।

11. 17 जून को मनाया गया विश्व मगरमच्छ दिवस

हर वर्ष 17 जून को विश्व मगरमच्छ दिवस (World Crocodile Day) मनाया जाता है। इसका उद्देश्य मगरमच्छ, घड़ियाल, एलीगेटर और कैमैन जैसी प्रजातियों के संरक्षण तथा उनके प्राकृतिक आवासों की रक्षा के प्रति लोगों को जागरूक करना है। यह दिवस वर्ष 2017 में Crocodile Research Coalition और Belize Zoo द्वारा शुरू किया गया था।
