1. नीरज चोपड़ा और पारुल चौधरी बने वर्ष के सर्वश्रेष्ठ एथलीट
Indian Athletics Awards 2025 में नीरज चोपड़ा को Best Male Athlete of the Year तथा पारुल चौधरी को Best Female Athlete of the Year सम्मान प्रदान किया गया। नीरज चोपड़ा ने 90.23 मीटर भाला फेंककर 90 मीटर की दूरी पार करने वाले पहले भारतीय बनने का इतिहास रचा। वहीं पारुल चौधरी ने एशियाई एथलेटिक्स चैंपियनशिप में 3000 मीटर स्टीपलचेज और 5000 मीटर स्पर्धाओं में स्वर्ण पदक जीतकर शानदार प्रदर्शन किया।
2. मध्य प्रदेश की खुरासानी इमली को मिला GI टैग
मध्य प्रदेश के धार जिले के ऐतिहासिक नगर मांडू से जुड़ी खुरासानी इमली को भौगोलिक संकेतक (GI Tag) प्रदान किया गया। यह फल अफ्रीकी मूल के बाओबाब (Adansonia digitata) वृक्ष से प्राप्त होता है। मांडू में भारत का सबसे बड़ा प्राकृतिक बाओबाब वृक्ष समूह पाया जाता है। GI टैग मिलने से इस विरासत फल की ऐतिहासिक, सांस्कृतिक और भौगोलिक पहचान को संरक्षण मिलेगा।
3. 21 जून को मनाया गया अंतरराष्ट्रीय योग दिवस
अंतरराष्ट्रीय योग दिवस प्रत्येक वर्ष 21 जून को विश्वभर में मनाया जाता है। इसकी शुरुआत संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभा द्वारा वर्ष 2014 में भारत के प्रस्ताव को स्वीकार करने के बाद हुई थी। योग दिवस का उद्देश्य योग के माध्यम से शारीरिक स्वास्थ्य, मानसिक संतुलन और समग्र कल्याण को बढ़ावा देना है। भारत सहित विश्व के अनेक देशों में इस अवसर पर बड़े पैमाने पर योग कार्यक्रम आयोजित किए गए।
4. ADB देगा भारत की डिजिटल शिक्षा परियोजना के लिए 10 मिलियन डॉलर
एशियाई विकास बैंक (ADB) ने Schoolnet India Limited के साथ मिलकर भारत में डिजिटल शिक्षा को मजबूत बनाने हेतु 10 मिलियन अमेरिकी डॉलर की वित्तीय सहायता प्रदान करने की घोषणा की। इस परियोजना के माध्यम से लगभग 45 लाख विद्यार्थियों को लाभ मिलेगा। इसके अंतर्गत 30,000 सरकारी विद्यालयों में डिजिटल शिक्षा को बढ़ावा दिया जाएगा, 58,000 डिजिटल कक्षाएँ स्थापित की जाएँगी तथा 56,000 से अधिक शिक्षकों को डिजिटल शिक्षण का प्रशिक्षण दिया जाएगा।
5. भारतीय वायुसेना को ब्रिटेन देगा नौ Jaguar लड़ाकू विमान
यूनाइटेड किंगडम (ब्रिटेन) भारतीय वायुसेना को SEPECAT Jaguar के 9 सेवानिवृत्त लड़ाकू विमान उपलब्ध कराएगा। इन विमानों को सक्रिय सेवा में शामिल नहीं किया जाएगा, बल्कि इनके इंजन, एवियोनिक्स और अन्य आवश्यक पुर्जों का उपयोग भारतीय Jaguar बेड़े के रखरखाव हेतु किया जाएगा। इससे भारतीय वायुसेना के Jaguar विमानों की परिचालन क्षमता लंबे समय तक बनी रहेगी।
6. हरियाणा की जल सुरक्षा परियोजना को विश्व बैंक की मंजूरी
विश्व बैंक ने हरियाणा की Jal Sanrakshit Haryana Water Security Project के लिए ₹4,000 करोड़ के ऋण को मंजूरी दी। इस परियोजना का उद्देश्य जल संरक्षण, नहरों का आधुनिकीकरण, भूजल पुनर्भरण, शुद्ध जल के पुनः उपयोग तथा सिंचाई दक्षता में सुधार करना है। इससे कृषि उत्पादन बढ़ाने और राज्य में दीर्घकालिक जल सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित करने में सहायता मिलेगी।
7. कोलकाता में INS Agray, INS Dunagiri और INS Sanshodhak का जलावतरण
प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने 21 जून 2026 को कोलकाता के श्यामा प्रसाद मुखर्जी पोर्ट पर तीन स्वदेशी नौसैनिक पोत—INS Agray, INS Dunagiri और INS Sanshodhak—को भारतीय नौसेना में शामिल किया। INS Dunagiri एक अत्याधुनिक स्टेल्थ फ्रिगेट, INS Agray पनडुब्बी रोधी युद्धपोत तथा INS Sanshodhak आधुनिक हाइड्रोग्राफिक सर्वेक्षण पोत है। यह उपलब्धि आत्मनिर्भर भारत अभियान के अंतर्गत रक्षा क्षेत्र में भारत की बढ़ती क्षमता को दर्शाती है।
8. Energy Transition Index 2026 में भारत 70वें स्थान पर
World Economic Forum (WEF) द्वारा जारी Energy Transition Index (ETI) 2026 में भारत 70वें स्थान पर रहा। भारत ने पिछले वर्ष की तुलना में दो स्थानों का सुधार किया तथा 54.9 अंक प्राप्त किए। नवीकरणीय ऊर्जा क्षेत्र में रोजगार बढ़ने, हरित ऊर्जा निवेश और ऊर्जा अवसंरचना के विस्तार ने इस प्रगति में महत्वपूर्ण योगदान दिया।
9. Axis Bank और BITS Pilani मिलकर बनाएंगे Innovation Park
BITS Pilani और Axis Bank ने हैदराबाद परिसर में ₹100 करोड़ की लागत से Industry Research, Technology & Innovation Park स्थापित करने की घोषणा की। यह परियोजना Axis Bank की CSR सहायता से विकसित होगी और जीवन विज्ञान, बायोफार्मा, स्वास्थ्य सेवा तथा मेडिकल उपकरणों के क्षेत्र में अनुसंधान एवं नवाचार को बढ़ावा देगी। इसका उद्देश्य उद्योग और शिक्षा संस्थानों के बीच सहयोग को मजबूत करना है।
10. FATF के पहले भारतीय उपाध्यक्ष बने विवेक अग्रवाल
विवेक अग्रवाल को Financial Action Task Force (FATF) का पहला भारतीय उपाध्यक्ष नियुक्त किया गया। FATF विश्व स्तर पर मनी लॉन्ड्रिंग, आतंकवाद वित्तपोषण और वित्तीय अपराधों पर निगरानी रखने वाली प्रमुख संस्था है। उनकी नियुक्ति वैश्विक वित्तीय शासन में भारत की बढ़ती भूमिका का महत्वपूर्ण संकेत है।
11. जैनेंद्र के. जैन बने Wolf Prize in Physics पाने वाले पहले भारतीय मूल के वैज्ञानिक
भारतीय मूल के प्रसिद्ध सैद्धांतिक भौतिक वैज्ञानिक जैनेंद्र के. जैन को Wolf Prize in Physics से सम्मानित किया गया। वे यह प्रतिष्ठित सम्मान प्राप्त करने वाले पहले भारतीय मूल के वैज्ञानिक बने। उन्हें Composite Fermions की खोज और Fractional Quantum Hall Effect की समझ को नई दिशा देने वाले योगदान के लिए यह पुरस्कार प्रदान किया गया। उनका शोध क्वांटम कंप्यूटिंग और संघनित पदार्थ भौतिकी में अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण माना जाता है।

1. Neeraj Chopra and Parul Chaudhary Honoured as Athletes of the Year
The Indian Athletics Awards 2025 recognised Neeraj Chopra as the Best Male Athlete of the Year and Parul Chaudhary as the Best Female Athlete of the Year. Neeraj created history by becoming the first Indian to cross the 90-metre mark in the javelin throw with a best effort of 90.23 metres. Parul Chaudhary earned the honour after winning gold medals in the women's 3000m steeplechase and 5000m events at the Asian Athletics Championships, further strengthening India's reputation in international athletics.
2. Khurasani Imli of Madhya Pradesh Receives GI Tag
Khurasani Imli, a unique fruit obtained from the African Baobab (Adansonia digitata) tree, received a Geographical Indication (GI) Tag. The fruit is closely associated with the historic town of Mandu in Dhar district, Madhya Pradesh, which has India's largest natural cluster of Baobab trees. The GI recognition protects the fruit's authenticity while preserving its historical, cultural, and ecological significance.
3. International Day of Yoga Observed on 21 June
The International Day of Yoga was celebrated across the world on 21 June 2026. First proposed by India and adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 2014, the observance promotes physical fitness, mental well-being, and holistic health through the practice of yoga. Millions of people participated in yoga sessions organised globally to spread awareness about healthy living.
4. ADB Supports India's Digital Education Infrastructure
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) partnered with Schoolnet India Limited to provide a USD 10 million financing package for strengthening digital education infrastructure across India. The initiative aims to benefit approximately 4.5 million students by supporting digital learning in 30,000 government schools, establishing 58,000 digital classrooms, and training more than 56,000 teachers in digital pedagogy and inclusive teaching practices.
5. United Kingdom to Supply Jaguar Aircraft for IAF Maintenance
The United Kingdom agreed to provide nine retired SEPECAT Jaguar fighter aircraft to the Indian Air Force. These aircraft will not enter active service but will be used as a valuable source of spare parts, including engines, avionics, and structural components. The acquisition will help extend the operational life of India's Jaguar fleet until newer fighter aircraft gradually replace them.
6. World Bank Approves Loan for Haryana Water Security Project
The World Bank approved a ₹4,000 crore loan for Haryana's Jal Sanrakshit Haryana Water Security Project. The project focuses on water conservation, canal modernisation, groundwater recharge, wastewater reuse, and improved irrigation efficiency. It is expected to strengthen long-term water security, enhance agricultural productivity, and promote climate-resilient water management across the state.
7. INS Agray, INS Dunagiri and INS Sanshodhak Commissioned in Kolkata
Prime Minister Narendra Modi commissioned three indigenously built naval vessels—INS Agray, INS Dunagiri, and INS Sanshodhak—at Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata, on 21 June 2026. INS Dunagiri is an advanced stealth frigate, INS Agray is an anti-submarine warfare vessel, and INS Sanshodhak is a modern hydrographic survey ship. Their induction strengthens India's maritime security and supports the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat in defence manufacturing.

9. Axis Bank and BITS Pilani Establish Innovation Park
