1. Taiwan Launches Immediate Combat Readiness Exercise

Taiwan commenced its five-day Immediate Combat Readiness Exercise on 22 June 2026 to strengthen its capability to rapidly transition from peacetime to wartime operations. The exercise focuses on realistic battlefield scenarios using actual troops, equipment, and terrain rather than scripted drills. It aims to improve command-and-control coordination, logistics, and military preparedness ahead of the annual Han Kuang military exercises.

2. Olympic Day Celebrated on 23 June

Olympic Day is observed worldwide every year on 23 June to commemorate the establishment of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in 1894. The day promotes sports participation, physical fitness, friendship, and the Olympic values of excellence, respect, and solidarity. Countries across the world organise Olympic Day Runs, sports events, fitness campaigns, and educational programmes to encourage healthy lifestyles.

3. United States Announces Defence Sustainment Package for India

The United States approved a US$482.2 million sustainment support package for India's AH-64E Apache attack helicopters and M777A2 Ultra-Light Howitzers. The package includes long-term engineering, logistics, technical support, maintenance, and spare parts to improve operational readiness. Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and BAE Systems will provide technical support for the respective defence platforms.

4. Federal Bank Launches FCNR Max Deposit Scheme

Federal Bank introduced the FCNR Max Deposit Scheme for Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), offering a fixed annual interest rate of 6.25% on US Dollar-denominated Foreign Currency Non-Resident (FCNR) deposits. Available for tenures ranging from three to five years, the scheme aims to strengthen the bank's overseas deposit base while providing attractive investment opportunities for NRIs.

5. United Nations Public Service Day Observed on 23 June

The United Nations Public Service Day is observed annually on 23 June to recognise the contributions of public servants and government institutions in improving citizens' lives. Established through UN General Assembly Resolution 57/277 in 2002, the observance promotes excellence, innovation, transparency, accountability, and citizen-centric governance across public administration.

6. Austria Receives First Commercial Export of Egg Powder from Odisha

India exported its first commercial consignment of 22.6 metric tonnes of dried whole egg powder from Balangir, Odisha, to Austria with the facilitation of APEDA. The export was undertaken by OVO Farm Pvt. Ltd. and marks an important milestone for Odisha's food processing sector. Dried whole egg powder is widely used in bakery, confectionery, food processing, and pharmaceutical industries due to its long shelf life and ease of transportation.

7. Harmanpreet Kaur Becomes First Cricketer to Play 200 T20 Internationals

Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur created history by becoming the first player in both men's and women's international cricket to play 200 T20 International matches. She achieved this milestone during India's ICC Women's T20 World Cup match against South Africa in Manchester. Harmanpreet remains one of India's most accomplished women cricketers with numerous international records and honours.

8. Rajendra Kumar Saboo Given Additional Charge as UCO Bank MD & CEO

The Ministry of Finance appointed Rajendra Kumar Saboo as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (MD & CEO) of UCO Bank on an additional charge basis. Previously serving as the bank's Executive Director, he assumed the responsibility following the completion of Ashwani Kumar's tenure. The arrangement will remain effective until a regular appointment is made.

9. India Wins Gold at Asian Relays Championships 2026

India delivered an impressive performance at the Asian Relays Championships 2026 held in Shangyu, China. The Indian women's 4×100 metre relay team won the gold medal with a season-best timing of 43.85 seconds. India also secured a silver medal in the mixed 4×400 metre relay and a bronze medal in the mixed 4×100 metre relay, finishing the championship with three medals.

10. Tushar Mehta Reappointed as Solicitor General of India

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) reappointed Tushar Mehta as the Solicitor General of India for another three-year term beginning 1 July 2026. As India's second-highest law officer after the Attorney General, he represents the Union Government before the Supreme Court, High Courts, tribunals, and various judicial forums on important constitutional, taxation, governance, and national security matters.

11. Canada Partners with Australia for Arctic Radar Programme

Canada entered into a Government-to-Government acquisition arrangement with Australia for its Arctic Over-the-Horizon Radar (A-OTHR) programme. Supported by BAE Systems Australia, the project involves an investment of US$2.5 billion and aims to strengthen Arctic surveillance and modernise NORAD capabilities. The advanced radar system can detect airborne and maritime objects beyond the Earth's curvature using ionospheric radar technology.

1. ताइवान ने इमीडिएट कॉम्बैट रेडीनेस एक्सरसाइज शुरू किया

ताइवान ने 22 जून 2026 को पाँच दिवसीय Immediate Combat Readiness Exercise शुरू किया। इसका उद्देश्य शांतिकाल से युद्धकालीन स्थिति में तेजी से परिवर्तन करने की क्षमता को मजबूत करना है। इस अभ्यास में वास्तविक सैनिकों, हथियारों और उपकरणों का उपयोग किया जा रहा है ताकि सेना की कमांड, लॉजिस्टिक्स और युद्ध तैयारी को और अधिक प्रभावी बनाया जा सके। यह अभ्यास वार्षिक Han Kuang Military Exercise से पहले आयोजित किया गया।

2. 23 जून को मनाया गया ओलंपिक दिवस

ओलंपिक दिवस (Olympic Day) प्रत्येक वर्ष 23 जून को मनाया जाता है। इसी दिन वर्ष 1894 में अंतरराष्ट्रीय ओलंपिक समिति (IOC) की स्थापना हुई थी। इस दिवस का उद्देश्य खेलों को बढ़ावा देना, स्वस्थ जीवनशैली अपनाने के लिए प्रेरित करना तथा ओलंपिक मूल्यों—श्रेष्ठता (Excellence), सम्मान (Respect) और मित्रता (Friendship)—का प्रचार करना है।

3. अमेरिका ने भारत के लिए 482.2 मिलियन डॉलर का रक्षा सहायता पैकेज स्वीकृत किया

4. Federal Bank ने FCNR Max Deposit Scheme लॉन्च की

Federal Bank ने अनिवासी भारतीयों (NRIs) के लिए FCNR Max Deposit Scheme शुरू की। इस योजना के तहत अमेरिकी डॉलर आधारित Foreign Currency Non-Resident (FCNR) जमा पर 6.25% वार्षिक निश्चित ब्याज दिया जाएगा। यह योजना तीन से पाँच वर्ष की अवधि के लिए उपलब्ध है और बैंक की विदेशी मुद्रा जमा को बढ़ाने के उद्देश्य से शुरू की गई है।

5. 23 जून को मनाया गया संयुक्त राष्ट्र लोक सेवा दिवस

संयुक्त राष्ट्र लोक सेवा दिवस (United Nations Public Service Day) प्रत्येक वर्ष 23 जून को मनाया जाता है। इसकी स्थापना वर्ष 2002 में संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभा द्वारा की गई थी। इसका उद्देश्य लोक सेवकों और सरकारी संस्थानों के योगदान को सम्मान देना तथा पारदर्शिता, जवाबदेही, नवाचार और जन-केंद्रित प्रशासन को बढ़ावा देना है।

6. ऑस्ट्रिया को ओडिशा से पहली बार अंडा पाउडर का व्यावसायिक निर्यात

APEDA की सहायता से ओडिशा के बलांगीर से 22.6 मीट्रिक टन सूखे सम्पूर्ण अंडा पाउडर (Dried Whole Egg Powder) का पहला व्यावसायिक निर्यात ऑस्ट्रिया को किया गया। यह निर्यात OVO Farm Pvt. Ltd. द्वारा किया गया और इससे भारत के मूल्य संवर्धित कृषि उत्पादों के निर्यात को नई दिशा मिली।

7. हरमनप्रीत कौर ने 200 टी-20 अंतरराष्ट्रीय मैच खेलने का विश्व रिकॉर्ड बनाया

भारतीय महिला क्रिकेट टीम की कप्तान हरमनप्रीत कौर अंतरराष्ट्रीय क्रिकेट इतिहास में पुरुष और महिला दोनों वर्गों में 200 टी-20 अंतरराष्ट्रीय मैच खेलने वाली पहली खिलाड़ी बन गईं। उन्होंने यह उपलब्धि दक्षिण अफ्रीका के विरुद्ध ICC महिला T20 विश्व कप के दौरान हासिल की। यह भारतीय महिला क्रिकेट के लिए एक ऐतिहासिक उपलब्धि है।

8. राजेंद्र कुमार साबू को UCO Bank का अतिरिक्त MD एवं CEO नियुक्त किया गया

वित्त मंत्रालय ने राजेंद्र कुमार साबू को UCO Bank का अतिरिक्त प्रबंध निदेशक एवं मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी (MD & CEO) नियुक्त किया। वे पहले बैंक में कार्यकारी निदेशक (Executive Director) थे। यह नियुक्ति नियमित MD एवं CEO की नियुक्ति होने तक प्रभावी रहेगी।

9. एशियन रिले चैंपियनशिप 2026 में भारत ने स्वर्ण पदक जीता

चीन के शांगयू में आयोजित Asian Relays Championships 2026 में भारत की महिला 4×100 मीटर रिले टीम ने स्वर्ण पदक जीता। भारत ने प्रतियोगिता में कुल तीन पदक जीते, जिनमें एक स्वर्ण, एक रजत और एक कांस्य पदक शामिल है। अगली एशियन रिले चैंपियनशिप का आयोजन 2027 में चंडीगढ़ में किया जाएगा।

10. तुषार मेहता पुनः भारत के सॉलिसिटर जनरल नियुक्त

तुषार मेहता को 1 जुलाई 2026 से अगले तीन वर्षों के लिए पुनः भारत का सॉलिसिटर जनरल नियुक्त किया गया। सॉलिसिटर जनरल भारत के दूसरे सर्वोच्च विधि अधिकारी होते हैं और सर्वोच्च न्यायालय सहित विभिन्न न्यायिक मंचों पर केंद्र सरकार का पक्ष प्रस्तुत करते हैं।

11. कनाडा ने ऑस्ट्रेलिया के साथ Arctic Radar कार्यक्रम हेतु समझौता किया

कनाडा ने ऑस्ट्रेलिया और BAE Systems Australia के साथ Arctic Over-the-Horizon Radar (A-OTHR) कार्यक्रम के लिए सरकारी स्तर पर समझौता किया। लगभग 2.5 बिलियन अमेरिकी डॉलर की इस परियोजना का उद्देश्य आर्कटिक क्षेत्र की निगरानी क्षमता बढ़ाना तथा NORAD के आधुनिकीकरण को मजबूत करना है। यह उन्नत रडार पृथ्वी की वक्रता के पार भी लक्ष्यों का पता लगाने में सक्षम है।
