1. Gujarat Announces 20% Reservation for Former Agniveers

The Gujarat Government announced 20% reservation for former Agniveers in direct recruitment to Class-3 posts in the police, jail, and forest departments. Former Agniveers will also receive up to three years of age relaxation, while candidates from the first batch of the Agnipath Scheme will be eligible for five years of age relaxation. Additionally, they will be exempted from the Physical Efficiency Test (PET). The initiative aims to provide government employment opportunities by recognising their military training, discipline, and service experience.

2. India's First Made-in-India C295 Aircraft to be Delivered in September 2026

India's first Made-in-India C295 tactical transport aircraft is scheduled to be delivered to the Indian Air Force in September 2026. Manufactured by Tata Advanced Systems Limited in partnership with Airbus, it is the first military aircraft to be produced by India's private sector. The aircraft will replace the ageing Avro HS-748 fleet and significantly strengthen India's defence manufacturing capabilities under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative.

3. Bengaluru Hosts BRICS Heads of Space Agencies Meeting 2026

Bengaluru hosted the BRICS Heads of Space Agencies (HOSA) Meeting 2026, organised by ISRO and the Department of Space. Representatives from all eleven BRICS member countries participated in discussions on satellite cooperation, Earth observation, space sustainability, disaster management, climate monitoring, and the proposed BRICS Space Council. 4. SEBI Launches GARUDA Green Channel Framework

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) introduced the GARUDA (Green Channel: AIF Rollout Upon Document Acknowledgement) framework for Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs). The framework replaces the conventional pre-approval process with a document acknowledgement mechanism, enabling faster scheme launches, simplified compliance, improved transparency, and quicker capital mobilisation. 6. Indore's Malwi Potato Receives GI Tag

Malwi Potato from Indore, Madhya Pradesh, received the Geographical Indication (GI) Tag in recognition of its unique quality and regional identity. The potato is known for its low sugar and low starch content, making it ideal for manufacturing chips and French fries. It has also been selected under the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative for Indore and is cultivated over nearly 45,000 hectares in the region.

7. United Nations Launches Global Methane Action Plan

The United Nations launched the Global Methane Action Plan under the leadership of Secretary-General António Guterres. 10. Sanjay Kumar Jain Resigns as IRCTC Chairman and Managing Director

Sanjay Kumar Jain resigned from the post of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of IRCTC on personal grounds. During his tenure, IRCTC was elevated from a Mini Ratna to a Navratna Public Sector Enterprise and upgraded from Schedule B to Schedule A status. 1. गुजरात में पूर्व अग्निवीरों को 20% आरक्षण

गुजरात सरकार ने पुलिस, जेल और वन विभाग के क्लास-3 पदों पर सीधी भर्ती में पूर्व अग्निवीरों के लिए 20% आरक्षण की घोषणा की। इसके साथ ही उन्हें 3 वर्ष तक की आयु सीमा में छूट मिलेगी, जबकि अग्निपथ योजना के पहले बैच के अभ्यर्थियों को 5 वर्ष तक की आयु सीमा में छूट प्रदान की जाएगी। साथ ही भर्ती प्रक्रिया में Physical Efficiency Test (PET) से भी छूट दी गई है। इस पहल का उद्देश्य पूर्व अग्निवीरों को सरकारी सेवाओं में बेहतर अवसर उपलब्ध कराना है।

2. भारत का पहला मेड-इन-इंडिया C295 विमान सितंबर 2026 में मिलेगा

भारत का पहला मेड-इन-इंडिया C295 सामरिक परिवहन विमान सितंबर 2026 में भारतीय वायुसेना को सौंपा जाएगा। यह विमान Tata Advanced Systems Limited और Airbus की साझेदारी में निर्मित किया गया है तथा यह भारत के निजी क्षेत्र द्वारा निर्मित पहला सैन्य विमान होगा। C295 पुराने Avro HS-748 विमानों का स्थान लेगा और आत्मनिर्भर भारत अभियान के तहत रक्षा विनिर्माण को नई मजबूती देगा।

अंतरराष्ट्रीय महिला राजनय दिवस (International Day of Women in Diplomacy) प्रत्येक वर्ष 24 जून को मनाया जाता है। इसका उद्देश्य कूटनीति, अंतरराष्ट्रीय संबंधों, शांति स्थापना और वैश्विक नेतृत्व में महिलाओं के योगदान को सम्मान देना है। यह दिवस विदेश नीति और निर्णय निर्माण में महिलाओं की अधिक भागीदारी को भी प्रोत्साहित करता है।

6. इंदौर के मालवी आलू को मिला GI टैग

मध्य प्रदेश के इंदौर के प्रसिद्ध मालवी आलू को भौगोलिक संकेतक (GI Tag) प्रदान किया गया। यह आलू अपने कम शर्करा (Low Sugar) और कम स्टार्च (Low Starch) की वजह से चिप्स और फ्रेंच फ्राइज बनाने के लिए अत्यंत उपयुक्त माना जाता है। इसे One District One Product (ODOP) योजना के अंतर्गत इंदौर का प्रमुख उत्पाद भी चुना गया है।

7. संयुक्त राष्ट्र ने Global Methane Action Plan लॉन्च किया

संयुक्त राष्ट्र (UN) ने महासचिव एंटोनियो गुटेरेस के नेतृत्व में Global Methane Action Plan शुरू किया। इस योजना का उद्देश्य ऊर्जा, कृषि और अपशिष्ट प्रबंधन क्षेत्रों से होने वाले मीथेन उत्सर्जन को कम करना है। इसके अंतर्गत लैंडफिल प्रबंधन, मीथेन कैप्चर तकनीक और सर्कुलर इकोनॉमी को बढ़ावा देकर जलवायु परिवर्तन की चुनौती से निपटने का प्रयास किया जाएगा।

8. QS World Future Skills Index 2027 में भारत 13वें स्थान पर

QS World Future Skills Index 2027 में भारत 13वें स्थान पर रहा। भारत को 89.4 अंक प्राप्त हुए तथा Future of Work श्रेणी में देश ने विश्व में 5वाँ स्थान हासिल किया। यह उपलब्धि भारत की मजबूत डिजिटल कार्यशक्ति, तेजी से बढ़ते स्टार्टअप इकोसिस्टम और कृत्रिम बुद्धिमत्ता (AI) के क्षेत्र में बढ़ती क्षमता को दर्शाती है।

9. क्रिस्टियानो रोनाल्डो ने रचा फीफा विश्व कप का इतिहास
