1. R Praggnanandhaa Wins Norway Chess 2026

Indian Grandmaster R Praggnanandhaa created history by becoming the first Indian player to win the prestigious Norway Chess tournament. The 20-year-old chess sensation secured the title after defeating Germany's Vincent Keymer in the final round and finishing with 18 points. During the tournament, he achieved four consecutive victories and also registered two classical wins against former World Champion Magnus Carlsen. This landmark achievement has further strengthened India's position in the global chess arena.

2. Neelkanth Mishra Appointed Executive Director at the World Bank

The Government of India appointed renowned economist Neelkanth Mishra as India's next Executive Director at the World Bank. He will represent the South Asian constituency comprising India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, and Sri Lanka. Previously serving as Chief Economist at Axis Bank and a member of the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister, Mishra brings extensive expertise in economic policy, financial markets, and public governance.

4. FSSAI Introduces Mandatory Vegan Logo Timeline

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) announced that its standardised vegan logo will become mandatory on all approved vegan food products from 1 July 2027. The initiative aims to help consumers easily identify certified vegan products and prevent misleading claims. The logo features a stylised "V" along with a leaf symbol, representing plant-based and sustainable food choices.

5. India's GDP Growth Reaches 7.8% in Q4 FY26

India recorded a robust GDP growth rate of 7.8% during the fourth quarter (January–March) of FY26, surpassing expectations of both the Reserve Bank of India and market analysts. Strong performance in investment, services, agriculture, and construction sectors contributed to this growth. As a result, the full-year GDP growth estimate for FY26 was revised upward to 7.7%.

6. West Bengal Adopts National e-Vidhan Application

West Bengal became the 33rd Legislature in India to adopt the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) platform after signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs. NeVA is a digital governance initiative designed to create paperless legislative institutions, improve transparency, enhance accessibility, and streamline legislative processes under the vision of "One Nation – One Application."

7. MY Bharat Achieves Guinness World Record

MY Bharat secured a Guinness World Records title for the highest number of users participating in an online quiz within one week. The achievement was accomplished through the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders' Dialogue Quiz, which attracted over 8.39 lakh participants. Following verification and auditing, 390,812 participants were officially recognised, establishing a new world record and highlighting India's growing digital youth engagement.

1. आर. प्रज्ञानानंदा ने जीता नॉर्वे शतरंज 2026 का खिताब

भारतीय ग्रैंडमास्टर आर. प्रज्ञानानंदा ने इतिहास रचते हुए प्रतिष्ठित नॉर्वे शतरंज टूर्नामेंट 2026 का खिताब जीत लिया। वे इस प्रतियोगिता को जीतने वाले पहले भारतीय खिलाड़ी बन गए हैं। 20 वर्षीय प्रज्ञानानंदा ने अंतिम दौर में जर्मनी के विन्सेंट कीमर को हराकर 18 अंकों के साथ शीर्ष स्थान प्राप्त किया। उन्होंने टूर्नामेंट के दौरान लगातार चार जीत दर्ज कीं और पूर्व विश्व चैंपियन मैग्नस कार्लसन को भी दो क्लासिकल मुकाबलों में पराजित किया। यह उपलब्धि भारतीय शतरंज इतिहास में एक महत्वपूर्ण मील का पत्थर मानी जा रही है।

2. नीलकंठ मिश्रा बने विश्व बैंक में भारत के कार्यकारी निदेशक

भारत सरकार ने प्रसिद्ध अर्थशास्त्री नीलकंठ मिश्रा को विश्व बैंक में भारत का अगला कार्यकारी निदेशक नियुक्त किया है। वे भारत, बांग्लादेश, भूटान और श्रीलंका के समूह का प्रतिनिधित्व करेंगे। इससे पहले वे एक्सिस बैंक के मुख्य अर्थशास्त्री तथा प्रधानमंत्री की आर्थिक सलाहकार परिषद के सदस्य रह चुके हैं। उनकी नियुक्ति वैश्विक आर्थिक मंचों पर भारत की बढ़ती भूमिका को दर्शाती है।

3. जम्मू-कश्मीर बैंक को मिला फिनैकल इनोवेशन अवार्ड

जम्मू-कश्मीर बैंक को फिनैकल इनोवेशन अवार्ड्स 2026 में “Modern Technologies-led Innovation – Data Insights & Analytics Platform” श्रेणी में गोल्ड अवार्ड प्रदान किया गया। बैंक ने कृत्रिम बुद्धिमत्ता (AI), मशीन लर्निंग (ML) और उन्नत डेटा विश्लेषण तकनीकों का उपयोग कर ग्राहक सेवा, जोखिम प्रबंधन, व्यापार पूर्वानुमान और परिचालन दक्षता में उल्लेखनीय सुधार किया है।

4. FSSAI का मानकीकृत वीगन लोगो होगा अनिवार्य

भारतीय खाद्य सुरक्षा एवं मानक प्राधिकरण (FSSAI) ने घोषणा की है कि 1 जुलाई 2027 से सभी स्वीकृत वीगन खाद्य उत्पादों पर मानकीकृत वीगन लोगो लगाना अनिवार्य होगा। इस पहल का उद्देश्य उपभोक्ताओं को प्रमाणित वीगन उत्पादों की पहचान करने में सहायता करना तथा भ्रामक दावों को रोकना है। लोगो में “V” अक्षर और एक पत्ती का चिन्ह शामिल है, जो पौध-आधारित भोजन का प्रतीक है।

5. FY26 की चौथी तिमाही में भारत की GDP वृद्धि 7.8% रही

वित्त वर्ष 2025-26 की चौथी तिमाही (जनवरी–मार्च) में भारत की GDP वृद्धि दर 7.8% दर्ज की गई, जो RBI और बाजार विशेषज्ञों के अनुमानों से अधिक रही। निवेश, सेवा क्षेत्र, कृषि उत्पादन और निर्माण गतिविधियों में मजबूती इस वृद्धि के प्रमुख कारण रहे। इसी के साथ पूरे वित्त वर्ष FY26 के लिए GDP वृद्धि अनुमान बढ़ाकर 7.7% कर दिया गया।

6. पश्चिम बंगाल ने अपनाया राष्ट्रीय ई-विधान एप्लीकेशन (NeVA)

पश्चिम बंगाल राष्ट्रीय ई-विधान एप्लीकेशन (NeVA) को अपनाने वाला भारत का 33वाँ विधानमंडल बन गया। इस संबंध में राज्य सरकार ने संसदीय कार्य मंत्रालय के साथ समझौता ज्ञापन (MoU) पर हस्ताक्षर किए। NeVA का उद्देश्य विधानमंडलों को पूर्णतः डिजिटल और पेपरलेस बनाना, पारदर्शिता बढ़ाना तथा कार्यवाही को अधिक कुशल बनाना है।

7. MY Bharat ने बनाया गिनीज वर्ल्ड रिकॉर्ड

युवा कार्यक्रम एवं खेल मंत्रालय के अंतर्गत संचालित MY Bharat प्लेटफॉर्म ने एक सप्ताह में सर्वाधिक लोगों द्वारा ऑनलाइन क्विज़ में भाग लेने का गिनीज वर्ल्ड रिकॉर्ड बनाया। यह उपलब्धि विकसित भारत यंग लीडर्स डायलॉग (VBYLD) क्विज़ के माध्यम से हासिल की गई। कुल 8.39 लाख से अधिक प्रतिभागियों ने भाग लिया, जिनमें से 3,90,812 प्रतिभागियों को सत्यापन के बाद रिकॉर्ड के लिए मान्यता दी गई।
