(Article 52–62)
Article 52 states that there shall be a President of India.
The President is the Constitutional Head of the country.
However, the real executive powers are exercised by the Council of Ministers headed by the Prime Minister.
Election:
The President is elected indirectly by an Electoral College consisting of elected Members of Parliament and elected Members of State Legislative Assemblies.
Term:
5 years, eligible for re-election.
Important Powers:
• Executive Power – Appoints the Prime Minister
• Legislative Power – Gives assent to Bills
• Ordinance Power – Article 123
• Emergency Powers – Articles 352, 356, 360
The President is a nominal head in practical functioning.
2️⃣ Prime Minister of India
(Article 74–75)
Article 74 provides that there shall be a Council of Ministers with the Prime Minister at the head.
The Prime Minister is the Real Executive Head of the Government.
Appointment:
Appointed by the President, usually the leader of the majority party in Lok Sabha.
Powers and Functions:
• Heads the Council of Ministers
• Presides over Cabinet meetings
• Advises the President
• Decides government policies
• Maintains majority in Lok Sabha
The President normally acts on the advice of the Prime Minister.
3️⃣ Parliament of India
(Article 79)
Article 79 states that Parliament consists of:
• President
• Lok Sabha
• Rajya Sabha
Lok Sabha:
• Maximum 552 members
• Directly elected
• Term of 5 years
• Money Bill can be introduced only in Lok Sabha
Rajya Sabha:
• Maximum 250 members
• Permanent House
• One-third members retire every two years

1️⃣ राष्ट्रपति
(अनुच्छेद 52–62)
अनुच्छेद 52 कहता है कि भारत में एक राष्ट्रपति होगा।
राष्ट्रपति देश का संवैधानिक प्रमुख होता है।
वास्तविक कार्यपालिका शक्ति प्रधानमंत्री की अध्यक्षता वाली मंत्रिपरिषद के पास होती है।
चुनाव:
राष्ट्रपति का चुनाव अप्रत्यक्ष रूप से निर्वाचक मंडल द्वारा किया जाता है, जिसमें निर्वाचित सांसद और निर्वाचित विधायक शामिल होते हैं।
कार्यकाल:
5 वर्ष, पुनः निर्वाचन संभव।
मुख्य शक्तियाँ:
• प्रधानमंत्री की नियुक्ति
• विधेयकों को स्वीकृति देना
• अध्यादेश जारी करना (अनुच्छेद 123)
• आपातकाल घोषित करना (अनुच्छेद 352, 356, 360)

2️⃣ प्रधानमंत्री
(अनुच्छेद 74–75)
अनुच्छेद 74 के अनुसार राष्ट्रपति की सहायता और सलाह के लिए मंत्रिपरिषद होगी, जिसका प्रमुख प्रधानमंत्री होगा।
प्रधानमंत्री देश का वास्तविक कार्यपालिका प्रमुख होता है।
नियुक्ति:
राष्ट्रपति द्वारा की जाती है, सामान्यतः लोकसभा में बहुमत दल के नेता को।
कार्य और शक्तियाँ:
• मंत्रिपरिषद का नेतृत्व
• मंत्रिमंडल की बैठकों की अध्यक्षता
• राष्ट्रपति को सलाह देना
• नीतियाँ तय करना
• लोकसभा में बहुमत बनाए रखना
राष्ट्रपति सामान्यतः प्रधानमंत्री की सलाह का पालन करता है।

(अनुच्छेद 79)
अनुच्छेद 79 के अनुसार संसद में शामिल हैं:
• राष्ट्रपति

• राज्यसभा
लोकसभा:
• अधिकतम 552 सदस्य
