IITM Pune Inaugurates Climate Incubation Center and Hosts WISE-2026
The Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM), Pune, inaugurated a dedicated Incubation Center for Startups in Weather and Climate on 15 May 2026. The institute also hosted the WISE-2026 event to promote innovation and private-sector participation in climate and weather technologies.
The institution functions under the Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES).
Inauguration and Leadership
The incubation centre was officially inaugurated by M. Ravichandran, Secretary of the Ministry of Earth Sciences.
The centre aims to encourage startups and entrepreneurs working in weather forecasting, climate services, atmospheric technologies, and environmental innovation.
About WISE-2026
WISE-2026 stands for Weather and Climate Innovation Meet for Startups and Entrepreneurs.
