The Union Minister for Development of North Eastern Region recently laid the foundation stone for the Integrated Sohra Circuit Development under the Prime Minister's Development Initiative for North Eastern Region (PM-DevINE) scheme.

The project aims to transform Sohra into a multi-day experiential tourism destination based on sustainability, local livelihoods and Meghalaya's cultural and natural heritage.

The Sohra Experience Centre will act as the cultural nucleus of the tourism circuit and showcase Meghalaya's diverse tribal heritage.

Its proposed facilities include amphitheatres, rain-experience parks, art galleries and craft pavilions.
