Why in News?

The Sports Authority of India (SAI) and MyBharat, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, launched three nationwide digital engagement initiatives on May 12, 2026 ahead of the Commonwealth Games 2030.

Key Highlights

1. Host Venue

India will host the Commonwealth Games 2030 in:

Ahmedabad

This will mark another major international sporting event hosted by India after the 2010 Commonwealth Games.

2. Torch Design Contest

Participants are required to:

• Design a torch concept inspired by India’s heritage
• Submit an optional 200-word concept note

The initiative aims to encourage creativity and public participation in the CWG 2030 preparations.

3. CWG Reel Challenge

Participants must create:

• An original reel of maximum 60 seconds

The reel should:

• Showcase local sports infrastructure
• Wish success to the upcoming CWG 2026 Indian contingent

4. CWG 2030 Quiz

Quiz Pattern

• Total Questions: 10 MCQs
• Time Limit: 5 minutes
• Minimum qualifying marks: 8

The initiative is designed to spread awareness about sports and the Commonwealth Games among youth.

5. Rewards

• Top performers will receive Fit India hampers from SAI.
• All eligible participants will receive digital participation certificates through the MyBharat portal.
