Recently, the Prime Minister of India inaugurated the Samrat Samprati Museum in Gujarat.
Samrat Samprati (224–215 BC) was an important ruler of the Mauryan dynasty. He was the grandson of the great emperor Samrat Ashoka, who is well known for spreading Buddhism.
Samprati was also known by several other names such as Indrapalit, Sangat, and Vigatashok.
He is especially remembered for his efforts in spreading Jainism and promoting the principle of non-violence (Ahimsa). Due to his deep dedication towards Jainism, he is often referred to as the “Jain Ashoka”.
The life and contributions of Samrat Samprati are mentioned in various Jain scriptures such as Sampratikatha, Parishistaparva, and Prabhavakcharita.
It is believed that he established centres of Jain culture not only across India but also in regions like Iran and Arab countries, which shows the wide influence of his rule.
Samprati is also credited with building thousands of Jain temples, particularly in the western and southern parts of India, making him one of the greatest patrons of Jainism in ancient India.

सम्प्रति को पश्चिमी और दक्षिणी भारत में हजारों जैन मंदिरों के निर्माण का श्रेय भी दिया जाता है, जिससे वे प्राचीन भारत में जैन धर्म के सबसे बड़े संरक्षकों में से एक बनते हैं।
