What is the Parsi New Year known as?
Correct Answer
B. NavrozB.
Explanation
The correct answer is Navroz.
According to the source, the Parsi New Year is also known as Navroz and is celebrated to mark the beginning of the Iranian calendar.
The book states that the tradition began about 3,000 years ago and is observed by the Parsi community around the world.
It further says that the day is also known as Jamshed-i-Nowruz, after the Persian king Jamshed, whom the source credits with introducing the Parsi calendar.
These details create several useful examination associations.
The main revision chain is: Parsi New Year — Navroz — beginning of Iranian calendar — Parsi community — tradition approximately 3,000 years old according to the source — also known as Jamshed-i-Nowruz — associated in the source with Persian King Jamshed.
Competitive examinations frequently ask New Year festivals of different communities and regions, so students should distinguish Navroz from other options.
Ugadi and Puthandu are names associated with other regional New Year traditions, while Pateti is another term that may appear in questions concerning the Parsi community and therefore acts as a particularly strong distractor here.
The book explicitly gives Navroz as the answer.
Students should also retain the alternative name Jamshed-i-Nowruz because an SSC question can ask the same fact in reverse.
The source does not expand upon the Iranian calendar or provide a specific modern date for the festival in this entry.
Therefore those details are not added as source-derived information.
Hence option (b), Navroz, is correct.
Parsi New Year — Navroz — Beginning of Iranian Calendar — Parsi Community — लगभग 3000 वर्ष पुरानी tradition — Jamshed-i-Nowruz — Persian King Jamshed। Competitive exams में अलग-अलग communities और regions के New Year festivals से matching questions पूछे जाते हैं। Quick revision: Parsi New Year — Navroz — Iranian Calendar — Jamshed-i-Nowruz — Parsi Community।
