Which of the following religious groups annually celebrates 'Paryushan Parva' for self-purification and spiritual upliftment?
Correct Answer
A. JainsA. जैन
Explanation
The correct answer is Jains.
According to the source, Paryushan Parva is celebrated every year by members of the Jain community for spiritual upliftment and self-purification.
The book describes it as the most sacred festival of their entire year.
The question itself adds that the observance involves adhering to ten universal virtues in practical life.
For examination preparation, the central association is therefore Paryushan Parva — Jain community — self-purification — spiritual upliftment — ten universal virtues, as framed in the question — most sacred festival of the year according to the source explanation.
This fact has appeared earlier in the same book as well, demonstrating that Paryushan is a recurring SSC Static GK topic.
Repetition is useful because the same festival may be asked through the associated community, its purpose, or its religious significance.
Parsis, Sikhs and Hindus are major religious communities with their own important festivals, so they serve as plausible distractors.
Students should not confuse Paryushan with Navroz, which appears elsewhere in the book in connection with the Parsi community, or Gurpurab, which the source associates with the Sikh community.
The source does not specify the ten virtues by name in this particular question's explanation, nor does it give the duration, dates or sect-specific observances.
Therefore those details have not been added as if supported by the book.
Quick revision chain: Paryushan Parva — Jains — annual sacred festival — spiritual upliftment — self-purification — practical observance of universal virtues.
Thus option (a), Jains, is correct.
इसलिए exam preparation के लिए मुख्य association है: Paryushan Parva — Jain Community — Self-Purification — Spiritual Upliftment — Ten Universal Virtues — Source के अनुसार Year का Most Sacred Festival। Quick revision: Paryushan Parva — Jains — Annual Sacred Festival — Spiritual Upliftment — Self-Purification — Universal Virtues।
