Correct Answerसही उत्तर
A. Ravi DeeceeA. Ravi Deecee
Explanationव्याख्या
The correct answer is Ravi Deecee.
According to the February 2026 Current Affairs source, H.E.
Mr.
Thierry Mathou, the French Ambassador to India, conferred the Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, translated as Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters, upon Ravi Deecee.
Ravi Deecee is the Publisher and Managing Director of DC Books.
The honour recognised his significant impact on the publishing world, particularly his contribution to promoting multilingualism, literary innovation and global cultural collaboration.
Under his leadership, DC Books developed into a leading Indian publishing house and became notable for bringing prominent French literary works to Malayalam readers through translation.
The source mentions several French or Francophone literary figures whose works have been translated into Malayalam, including Annie Ernaux, Céline, Johanna Gustawsson, Jean-Paul Sartre, Emmanuel Carrère, David Diop and Maryse Condé.
This aspect is particularly important because it explains the cultural bridge between French literature and Malayalam publishing that forms the context of the honour.
The Ordre des Arts et des Lettres itself was instituted in 1957 and is described in the source as an important component of French cultural policy.
It recognises people who have made outstanding contributions to arts and culture in France and globally.
The source also names Le Corbusier and Marcel Pagnol among notable past recipients.
Students should distinguish the recipient from the person who conferred the honour: Ravi Deecee was the recipient, whereas Thierry Mathou, the French Ambassador to India, conferred it.
For revision: Ravi Deecee → DC Books → Publisher & MD → Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres → France → multilingualism + literary innovation + cultural collaboration → French works translated into Malayalam.
Therefore, option A is correct.
