In recent years, concern has grown over the gradual decline of the Dogri language in the Jammu region.
हाल के वर्षों में जम्मू क्षेत्र में डोगरी भाषा के धीरे-धीरे कम होते प्रयोग को लेकर चिंता बढ़ी है।

- Dogri is an Indo-Aryan language belonging to the larger Indo-European family of languages. / डोगरी एक Indo-Aryan भाषा है, जो व्यापक Indo-European भाषा परिवार का हिस्सा है।
- It is spoken primarily in the Jammu region of Jammu and Kashmir. / यह मुख्य रूप से जम्मू-कश्मीर के जम्मू क्षेत्र में बोली जाती है।
- It is also spoken in Himachal Pradesh, northern Punjab and some other areas. / यह हिमाचल प्रदेश, उत्तरी पंजाब और कुछ अन्य क्षेत्रों में भी बोली जाती है।
Earliest Reference | सबसे प्राचीन उल्लेख
The earliest written reference to Dogri, using the palaeonym 'Duggar', is found in Amir Khusro's Nuh Siphir or 'The Nine Heavens', written in 1317 CE.
डोगरी का सबसे प्रारंभिक लिखित उल्लेख 'Duggar' नाम से Amir Khusro द्वारा 1317 CE में लिखित Nuh Siphir अर्थात 'The Nine Heavens' में मिलता है।
Origin and Development | उत्पत्ति और विकास
Dogri traces its linguistic roots to the Old Indo-Aryan tradition associated with Sanskrit. Like other modern Indo-Aryan languages, it developed through Old Indo-Aryan and Middle Indo-Aryan stages, including Pali, Prakrit and Apabhramsha, before entering its modern stage around the 10th century CE.
डोगरी की भाषायी जड़ें संस्कृत से जुड़ी Old Indo-Aryan परंपरा में हैं। अन्य आधुनिक Indo-Aryan भाषाओं की तरह इसका विकास Old Indo-Aryan से Middle Indo-Aryan के Pali, Prakrit और Apabhramsha चरणों से होते हुए लगभग 10वीं शताब्दी CE में आधुनिक चरण तक हुआ।
Script | लिपि
Dogri was traditionally written in the Takri script. Today, Devanagari is widely used for writing Dogri.
डोगरी परंपरागत रूप से Takri लिपि में लिखी जाती थी। वर्तमान में इसे मुख्य रूप से Devanagari लिपि में लिखा जाता है।
