What is PPVFR Authority? | PPVFR Authority क्या है?
It is a statutory authority established under the Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers' Rights Act, 2001.
यह Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers' Rights Act, 2001 के तहत स्थापित statutory authority है।
Administrative Ministry | प्रशासनिक मंत्रालय
The Authority works under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare, Government of India. It does not function under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.

- Protect intellectual-property rights of plant breeders. / Plant breeders के intellectual-property rights की protection।

Farmers' Rights | कृषकों के अधिकार
Subject to the Act, farmers may save, use, sow, resow, exchange, share and sell farm produce including seed of a protected variety in the same manner as before the Act, provided they do not sell branded seed of a protected variety in violation of the law.
Act के provisions के अधीन farmers protected variety के farm-saved seed को save, use, sow, resow, exchange, share और sell कर सकते हैं, लेकिन protected variety के branded seed की unauthorised sale permitted नहीं है।
National Register of Plant Varieties | राष्ट्रीय पौध किस्म रजिस्टर
The Authority maintains the National Register of Plant Varieties containing varieties registered under the Act.
Authority Act के अंतर्गत registered varieties का National Register of Plant Varieties maintain करती है।
Categories of Registration | पंजीकरण की श्रेणियाँ
The framework provides for registration of new varieties, extant varieties, farmers' varieties and essentially derived varieties according to statutory requirements.
Legal framework में statutory requirements के अनुसार new varieties, extant varieties, farmers' varieties और essentially derived varieties की registration का provision है।

The Authority is headed by a Chairperson. It also includes government representatives, agricultural experts and representatives of farmers, tribal organisations, seed industry and women associated with agriculture.
