Latest update and notification status
Railway Recruitment Boards issued an indicative/short notice on 21 September 2026 for 1,688 tentative undergraduate Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) vacancies under CEN 07/2026. This is a forthcoming application opportunity, not an open application as of 22 September 2026. The detailed Centralised Employment Notification will provide final RRB-wise vacancies, post-wise qualifications, medical standards, examination rules and corrections.
The numbers and dates below are based on the indicative notice and may be revised in the detailed CEN. Do not pay fees through unofficial websites or treat an indicative notice as a complete rulebook.
Important dates
Indicative notice: 21 September 2026. Expected online application start: 15 October 2026. Indicative last date: 13 November 2026. The detailed CEN will confirm the fee deadline, correction window, CBT dates, city-intimation dates and admit-card release.
Posts and vacancies
1,688 vacancies are tentative. Indicative post categories include Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist and Trains Clerk. Exact post-wise, category-wise and regional railway distribution should be checked in the full CEN and any corrigendum.
Educational qualification
A recognised Class 12/10+2 qualification is the basic education level. Typist posts have additional skill-test requirements and all candidates must meet the detailed CEN conditions. Candidates must possess the required qualification by the cut-off date in the detailed notification. Check the rules on final-year candidates, equivalence and documentary proof before applying.
Age and reservation
Age, date-of-birth window, medical standards and category-wise relaxations must be checked against the detailed CEN. Some early reports use age ranges from the indicative notice; avoid assuming that an earlier NTPC recruitment’s cut-off date applies here. Keep valid caste/EWS/PwBD/ESM certificates ready where relevant.
Selection process and syllabus
The standard NTPC selection route comprises CBT 1, CBT 2, the applicable typing-skill or aptitude test for designated posts, document verification and medical examination. The exact test requirement varies by post; not every candidate sits every skill test.
Typical CBT preparation areas are Mathematics (number system, percentages, ratio, profit and loss, time and work, speed and distance, elementary algebra and data interpretation), General Intelligence and Reasoning (series, coding, analogies, syllogism, puzzles and interpretation), and General Awareness (history, polity, geography, science, economics, computers, current affairs and railways). Visit the official RRB portal; read the detailed CEN and choose the correct recruitment and participating RRB. Create or use the official candidate account, verify identity details, select eligible posts and preferences, upload required materials, pay the applicable fee and retain the acknowledgement.
Do not create duplicate registrations or choose a post solely on its title. Check whether the post involves typing, aptitude testing, visual standards, a particular medical category or a location-specific condition.
Documents to prepare
Keep Class 10 certificate for name/date of birth, educational certificates and mark sheets, identity documents, a working mobile number and email, photograph/signature according to portal specifications, and category/relaxation certificates where applicable. शैक्षणिक योग्यता

चयन प्रक्रिया एवं पाठ्यक्रम
सामान्यतः चयन में प्रथम कंप्यूटर आधारित परीक्षा, द्वितीय कंप्यूटर आधारित परीक्षा, संबंधित पदों के लिए टंकण कौशल अथवा अभिक्षमता परीक्षा, दस्तावेज़ सत्यापन तथा चिकित्सकीय परीक्षण शामिल होते हैं। प्रत्येक पद के लिए सभी कौशल परीक्षाएं आवश्यक नहीं हैं।
गणित में संख्या पद्धति, प्रतिशत, अनुपात, लाभ-हानि, समय एवं कार्य, गति-दूरी तथा आंकड़ों का विश्लेषण पढ़ें। तर्कशक्ति में श्रृंखला, कूटलेखन, सादृश्य, न्यायवाक्य और पहेलियों का अभ्यास करें। सामान्य जागरूकता में इतिहास, संविधान, भूगोल, विज्ञान, अर्थव्यवस्था, कंप्यूटर और समसामयिक घटनाएं पढ़ें। यह तैयारी का मार्गदर्शन है; अंतिम पाठ्यक्रम एवं अंक योजना विस्तृत अधिसूचना से लें।
टंकण वाले पदों के अभ्यर्थी अपनी चुनी भाषा में गति के साथ शुद्धता का अभ्यास करें। पदों की वरीयता भरने से पहले अभिक्षमता तथा चिकित्सकीय शर्तें समझें।

आवेदन आरंभ होने पर रेलवे भर्ती बोर्ड की आधिकारिक वेबसाइट पर विस्तृत अधिसूचना पढ़ें। सही भर्ती एवं रेलवे भर्ती बोर्ड चुनें, पंजीकरण करें, शैक्षणिक तथा पहचान संबंधी जानकारी भरें, पात्र पदों की वरीयता निर्धारित करें, आवश्यक दस्तावेज़ अपलोड करें और लागू शुल्क जमा करें। आवेदन की अंतिम प्रति सुरक्षित रखें।

तैयार रखने वाले दस्तावेज़
