Which Article of the Constitution deals with provisions concerning the introduction and passing of Bills in Parliament?
Correct Answer
D. Article 107D.
Explanation
Article 107 contains provisions concerning the introduction and passing of Bills in Parliament.
Subject to the constitutional rules governing Money Bills and certain financial Bills, an ordinary Bill may originate in either House of Parliament.
The Article also addresses circumstances in which Bills lapse or remain pending when parliamentary sessions end or the Lok Sabha is dissolved.
These provisions are important because the consequences of prorogation and dissolution are different.
Article 107 should be studied together with Article 108 on joint sittings, Article 109 on Money Bills and Article 110 defining Money Bills.
