Correct Answer
A. BengaluruA.
Explanation
The correct answer is Bengaluru.
According to the source, the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences, commonly abbreviated as NIMHANS, is located in Bengaluru.
The source describes it as a multidisciplinary institute concerned with patient care and academic pursuits in the fields of mental health and neurosciences.
This question belongs to an important class of static-GK questions in which national institutions are matched with their cities.
For examination purposes, the most important direct association is NIMHANS — Bengaluru.
Students should also remember the expansion of the abbreviation: National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences.
SSC may ask the full form rather than the location, or it may provide Bengaluru and ask which major institution concerned with mental health and neurosciences is situated there.
Therefore learning both the abbreviation and its location provides better coverage.
The other options—Puducherry, Kolkata and Indore—are major Indian cities with important educational and medical institutions, which makes them plausible distractors.
However, the source clearly identifies Bengaluru as the location of NIMHANS.
Institution-location questions are highly scoring if students prepare them systematically.
A useful revision method is to create separate lists for research institutes, universities, medical institutes, space centres and scientific organisations along with their cities.
In this case, remember the three-part connection: NIMHANS — National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences — Bengaluru.
Based on the source, option (a) is correct.
National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences, National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences। NIMHANS — National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences — Bengaluru।
