Correct Answer
C. National Research FoundationC.
Explanation
The correct answer according to the source is the National Research Foundation.
The book states that the government planned to establish a National Research Foundation, abbreviated as NRF, with the aim of catalysing and energising research and innovation across academic disciplines, particularly at the university and college levels.
The explanation attributes the announcement to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman during her maiden Budget speech.
For this PYQ, the most important association is National Research Foundation — funding, coordination and promotion of research — research and innovation across academic disciplines — particular emphasis on universities and colleges.
This was a proposal-based question from the examination period, so the wording should be understood historically rather than automatically treated as a description of the present institutional status.
Competitive examinations frequently ask questions from Budget announcements and education
research policies when they later become important static facts.
The other options sound plausible but are not the institution named by the source.
Students should therefore remember the exact title 'National Research Foundation' rather than a generic phrase such as Research and Development Centre.
The source uses the verbs catalyse and energise to describe the intended role of the proposed organisation.
These words indicate an effort to strengthen research activity across disciplines.
For revision, remember: NRF — National Research Foundation — proposed by government — research funding
coordination
promotion — innovation across disciplines — universities and colleges — mentioned by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in her maiden Budget speech.
Since institutional proposals may evolve, this entry is best preserved as a historical PYQ.
Option (c) is correct.
इस PYQ के लिए सबसे महत्वपूर्ण association है: National Research Foundation — Research Funding + Coordination + Promotion — Innovation across Academic Disciplines — Universities and Colleges पर विशेष focus। Source 'catalyse and energise research and innovation' शब्दों का प्रयोग करता है, जिससे इसका intended purpose स्पष्ट होता है। Revision chain रखें: NRF — National Research Foundation — Government Proposal — Research Funding, Coordination, Promotion — Innovation — Universities/Colleges — Nirmala Sitharaman's Maiden Budget Speech।
