The correct answer is the 68th Foundation Day.
According to the source, the Defence Research and Development Organisation, DRDO, celebrated its 68th Foundation Day on 1 January 2026 at DRDO Headquarters.
During the occasion, Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh and Raksha Rajya Mantri Sanjay Seth reviewed DRDO's achievements of 2025 and its targets for 2026.
DRDO Chairman Dr Samir V Kamat highlighted the organisation's role in Aatmanirbhar Bharat and in promoting self-reliance in defence technology.

The source also provides a major procurement-related figure for 2025.
It states that 22 Acceptance of Necessity, or AoN, were accorded for DRDO systems worth approximately ₹1.30 lakh crore for manufacturing by Indian industries, described as the highest in a single year.
This is a significant examination point because it links research and development with indigenous defence manufacturing.
The source also says DRDO's research has catalysed the growth of domestic defence manufacturing and industry collaborations.
Students should remember the full association: 1 January 2026 → 68th Foundation Day → DRDO Headquarters → Rajnath Singh + Sanjay Seth → Chairman Dr Samir V Kamat → Aatmanirbhar Bharat → cyber security, space, AI → 22 AoNs → approximately ₹1.30 lakh crore.
Questions may ask the Foundation Day number, date, chairman or AoN figure.
Since the source explicitly states that the 68th Foundation Day was celebrated, option D is correct.
सही उत्तर 68th Foundation Day है। Source के अनुसार Defence Research and Development Organisation यानी DRDO ने 1 January 2026 को DRDO Headquarters में अपना 68th Foundation Day celebrate किया। Source 2025 का important procurement-related fact भी देता है: DRDO systems के लिए 22 Acceptance of Necessity यानी AoN accord किए गए, जिनकी approximate value ₹1.30 lakh crore थी और manufacturing Indian industries द्वारा की जानी थी। इसे single year का highest figure बताया गया है। Source domestic defence manufacturing और industry collaborations में DRDO R&D की role भी highlight करता है। Revision chain: 1 Jan 2026 → DRDO 68th Foundation Day → HQ → Rajnath Singh + Sanjay Seth → Chairman Dr Samir V Kamat → Aatmanirbhar Bharat → cyber security + space + AI → 22 AoNs → ₹1.30 lakh crore। इसलिए option D सही answer है।
