Why in News? | चर्चा में क्यों?
The Indian Army signed a contract for procurement of BvS10 Sindhu all-terrain armoured vehicles from Larsen & Toubro, which partnered with BAE Systems for the programme. The vehicles will be manufactured indigenously at L&T's Armoured Systems Complex at Hazira in Gujarat with technical and design support from BAE Systems Hägglunds.
भारतीय सेना ने लार्सन एंड टुब्रो से बीवीएस10 सिंधु सर्व-भूभाग बख्तरबंद वाहनों की खरीद के लिए अनुबंध किया। इस कार्यक्रम में एलएंडटी ने बीएई सिस्टम्स के साथ साझेदारी की है। इन वाहनों का स्वदेशी निर्माण गुजरात के हजीरा स्थित एलएंडटी के आर्मर्ड सिस्टम्स कॉम्प्लेक्स में किया जाएगा तथा बीएई सिस्टम्स हैग्लुंड्स तकनीकी और डिजाइन सहायता प्रदान करेगा।
What is BvS10? | बीवीएस10 क्या है?
BvS10 is a tracked, articulated all-terrain vehicle originally developed by BAE Systems Hägglunds. Its articulated design consists of two connected vehicle units, enabling it to move across terrain where ordinary wheeled or conventional tracked vehicles may face difficulty.
बीवीएस10 एक ट्रैक आधारित, जोड़युक्त सर्व-भूभाग वाहन है जिसे मूल रूप से बीएई सिस्टम्स हैग्लुंड्स ने विकसित किया। इसकी संरचना में दो जुड़े हुए वाहन खंड होते हैं, जिससे यह ऐसे कठिन भूभाग पर भी चल सकता है जहाँ सामान्य पहिएदार अथवा पारंपरिक ट्रैक वाहन कठिनाई का सामना कर सकते हैं।
What is the Sindhu Variant? | सिंधु संस्करण क्या है?
BvS10 Sindhu is an upgraded Indian variant adapted for India's climatic and geographical conditions. It is intended to operate in high-altitude areas, deserts, marshes, snow-covered terrain and amphibious environments.
बीवीएस10 सिंधु इसका उन्नत भारतीय संस्करण है जिसे भारत की भौगोलिक और जलवायु परिस्थितियों के अनुरूप बनाया गया है। इसे ऊँचाई वाले क्षेत्रों, रेगिस्तान, दलदली भूमि, बर्फ से ढके क्षेत्रों और जल-स्थल दोनों प्रकार के वातावरण में संचालन के लिए अनुकूलित किया गया है।
Amphibious Capability | जल-स्थल क्षमता
An important feature is its amphibious capability. This allows the vehicle to negotiate water obstacles and flood-affected terrain in addition to difficult land surfaces.
इसकी महत्वपूर्ण विशेषता जल-स्थल दोनों पर संचालन की क्षमता है। इसके कारण वाहन कठिन स्थलीय क्षेत्रों के अतिरिक्त जल अवरोधों और बाढ़ प्रभावित क्षेत्रों में भी उपयोगी हो सकता है।
Multiple Roles | बहुउद्देशीय भूमिका
The platform can be configured for troop transport, command and control, logistics, ambulance duties, recovery operations and weapon-carrying roles. Such modularity makes it useful for different operational requirements.
इस मंच को सैनिक परिवहन, कमान एवं नियंत्रण, रसद, एम्बुलेंस, पुनर्प्राप्ति और हथियार वाहक जैसी अनेक भूमिकाओं के लिए अनुकूलित किया जा सकता है। इसकी यह बहुउद्देशीय प्रकृति विभिन्न सैन्य आवश्यकताओं में उपयोगी है।
