The Government of India constituted a 12-member committee to examine restoration, operation and future management issues relating to the Teesta Barrage Project.
भारत सरकार ने Teesta Barrage Project के restoration, operation और future management का अध्ययन करने के लिए 12-member committee बनाई।
Committee Mandate | समिति का कार्य
- Study siltation in the Teesta basin. / Teesta basin में siltation का अध्ययन।
- Assess water availability and utilisation. / water availability और utilisation का आकलन।
- Examine measures for strengthening the barrage and related infrastructure. / barrage और संबंधित infrastructure को मजबूत करने के उपाय।
- Suggest climate-resilient approaches for river-basin management. / river-basin management के लिए climate-resilient approaches सुझाना।
The committee is chaired by the Chairman of the Central Water Commission and includes representatives of Sikkim and West Bengal.
committee की अध्यक्षता Central Water Commission के Chairman करते हैं और इसमें Sikkim तथा West Bengal के प्रतिनिधि शामिल हैं।
Teesta River | तीस्ता नदी
The Teesta rises in the eastern Himalayas, flows through Sikkim and West Bengal and then enters Bangladesh before joining the Brahmaputra system.
