State Bank of India has made the Preliminary Examination call letter available for the 2026 recruitment of Junior Associates (Customer Support & Sales) under Advertisement No. CRPD/CR/2026-27/17. Candidates registered for this recruitment should use only the official SBI Careers route to reach the call-letter facility.
The preliminary examination is scheduled for 26 and 27 September 2026. The exact date, shift, reporting time and examination venue applicable to an individual candidate are printed on that candidate's call letter. Candidates should therefore treat the call letter—not a common timetable circulated on social media—as the final authority for their personal reporting details.
What candidates should do now
Download the call letter well before the examination, print a clear copy, and read every instruction printed on it. Check the candidate name, registration/roll details, examination date, reporting time, gate-closing time, venue and any identity-document instructions. If the venue is unfamiliar, locate it in advance rather than attempting to find it at the last minute on the examination day.
SBI's recruitment guidance states that candidates must comply with the call-letter and examination instructions and that allotted examination date, time and venue cannot ordinarily be changed at the candidate's request. Preliminary examination: what to prepare
The Junior Associate preliminary stage is an online screening examination. Candidates should revise the core areas of English Language, Numerical Ability and Reasoning Ability. At this late stage, the most useful approach is accuracy-oriented revision: practise short timed sets, revise calculation methods and common arithmetic concepts, review reasoning patterns, and avoid starting too many completely new topics immediately before the test.
Because the examination is computer based, candidates should also be comfortable with moving between questions, monitoring the sectional timer where applicable and making deliberate choices about questions that consume excessive time. The objective should be to maximise accurate attempts rather than chase a predetermined attempt count.
Important exam-day precautions
Reach the centre according to the reporting time on the call letter. Do not rely on a third-party website for gate-closing time. Carry the printed call letter and the exact photo-identity/document set required by SBI. Follow instructions concerning photographs, signatures, rough sheets, biometric or identity verification and prohibited articles. Any discrepancy in personal details should be handled according to the instructions provided by SBI rather than through unofficial agents.
What happens after the prelims?
The preliminary examination is the first screening stage. Candidates who qualify according to SBI's recruitment rules are shortlisted for the Main Examination. Final selection is not based merely on appearing in the preliminary test; candidates must clear the subsequent stages prescribed in the official advertisement. Students should therefore continue preparation for the Main Examination instead of waiting for the preliminary result to begin studying again.

प्रारंभिक परीक्षा के बाद क्या होगा?
प्रारंभिक परीक्षा पहला छनाई चरण है। एसबीआई के निर्धारित मानदंडों के अनुसार सफल अभ्यर्थियों को मुख्य परीक्षा के लिए चुना जाएगा। केवल प्रारंभिक परीक्षा में उपस्थित होना चयन नहीं है। इसलिए गंभीर अभ्यर्थियों को परिणाम की प्रतीक्षा में पढ़ाई रोकने के बजाय मुख्य परीक्षा की तैयारी जारी रखनी चाहिए।
