The Tughlaq dynasty ruled the Delhi Sultanate from 1320 to 1414 CE. It succeeded the Khalji dynasty and was followed by the Sayyid dynasty.
Its founder was Ghiyasuddin Tughlaq, also known as Ghazi Malik.
The dynasty reached its greatest territorial extent during the early reign of Muhammad bin Tughlaq, although maintaining effective control over distant territories proved difficult.
Three rulers are especially important for competitive examinations:

Muhammad bin Tughlaq (1325–1351 CE)
Firoz Shah Tughlaq (1351–1388 CE)
