Explanation

The executive power of the Union is constitutionally vested in the President.
Article 53(1) states that the executive power of the Union shall be vested in the President and shall be exercised by the President either directly or through officers subordinate to him in accordance with the Constitution.
This provision establishes the formal constitutional location of Union executive power.
It must be read within India's parliamentary framework and together with provisions relating to the Council of Ministers.
The Constitution therefore distinguishes between the formal vesting of executive power and the broader institutional mechanism through which parliamentary government operates.
The President's position as the constitutional head of the Union Executive is directly connected with Article 53.
For examinations, Article 52 establishes the office of President, while Article 53 deals with the executive power of the Union.
