Vivekananda Rock Memorial is in which state of India?
Correct Answerसही उत्तर
A. Tamil NaduA. तमिलनाडु
Explanationव्याख्या
The correct answer is Tamil Nadu.
According to the source, Vivekananda Rock Memorial is a popular tourist monument at Vavaturai, Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu.
The book states that the memorial was built in 1970 in honour of Swami Vivekananda, who is said to have attained enlightenment on the rock.
The source also records a local legend according to which Goddess Kumari performed tapas on this rock in devotion to Lord Shiva.
These details make the site important for questions combining States GK, tourism, personalities and cultural traditions.
For the direct MCQ, the essential association is Vivekananda Rock Memorial — Kanyakumari — Tamil Nadu.
The year 1970 and its dedication to Swami Vivekananda are additional facts explicitly supplied by the source.
Students should learn these details together because an examination may reverse the question and ask which monument at Kanyakumari was built in honour of Swami Vivekananda or in which year the memorial was built.
The other options—Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala—are also coastal states, so the question requires accurate location knowledge.
The book's explanation specifically uses Vavaturai, Kanyakumari as the location.
The local tradition involving Goddess Kumari and Lord Shiva should be understood as a legend reported by the source, not as the central factual basis of the state-location answer.
For exam revision, remember: Vivekananda Rock Memorial — Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu — built in 1970 — honours Swami Vivekananda.
Therefore option (a) is correct.
