Union Public Service Commission has published separate written-result documents for the Indian Economic Service (IES) and Indian Statistical Service (ISS) Examination, 2026. The official examination page dates the written result and name-wise written result to 4 August 2026, and carries a subsequent notice dated 11 August 2026 concerning application-form updation. This is an important pending-stage result and interview-preparation update, not a newly released September result.
What is the examination?
The IES and ISS are distinct specialist services recruited through the same UPSC examination notification. IES is concerned with economics-related work and ISS with statistics-related work in Government. Candidates must check the result PDF for the service for which they appeared; the two lists are not interchangeable.
Examination timeline
The notification was issued on 11 February 2026. Applications closed on 3 March 2026 at 6:00 PM. The written examination commenced on 19 June 2026 and lasted three days. UPSC uploaded question papers on 22 June, written results on 4 August and the subsequent application-form notice on 11 August 2026.
How to check the written result
Visit the official UPSC IES–ISS Examination 2026 page. Locate the Written Result entry and open the Indian Economic Service or Indian Statistical Service PDF as appropriate. Search for your roll number. UPSC also provides separate Written Result (with name) PDFs. Save the PDF and note the date and service clearly.
What does written qualification mean?
A roll number in the written-result list indicates qualification for the next prescribed stage; it is not the final appointment list. Shortlisted candidates must follow UPSC instructions for the interview/personality test, application-form updation and document verification. The final recommendation follows the prescribed selection procedure.
Application-form updation notice
UPSC lists a notice dated 11 August 2026 about application-form updation for this examination. Shortlisted candidates should read the notice itself rather than assume that the same deadlines or document-upload requirements apply to every UPSC examination. If a particular portal window has closed, monitor UPSC for subsequent instructions rather than trying an unrelated recruitment link.
Interview and document preparation
Prepare the application details, original degree and mark sheets, date-of-birth proof, photo identification, category/EWS/PwBD certificates where applicable and other documents listed in the official summons or notice. For IES, revise economic theory, Indian economy, applied policy and statistical reasoning as relevant; for ISS, revise statistical theory, inference, sampling, econometrics and practical applications. These are preparation suggestions, not a newly announced official interview syllabus.

परीक्षा का उद्देश्य

क्या लिखित परिणाम ही अंतिम चयन है?
नहीं। लिखित परीक्षा में सफल होना अगले निर्धारित चरण के लिए पात्र होना है; इससे अंतिम नियुक्ति सुनिश्चित नहीं होती। आयोग के निर्देशों के अनुसार व्यक्तित्व परीक्षण/साक्षात्कार, दस्तावेज़ सत्यापन और अन्य आवश्यक प्रक्रियाएं पूरी करनी होंगी।
आवेदन-पत्र अद्यतन करने की सूचना
आयोग की 11 अगस्त 2026 की सूचना में इस परीक्षा के लिए आवेदन संबंधी आगे के निर्देश हैं। सफल अभ्यर्थी उस सूचना को पढ़कर ही आवश्यक कार्यवाही करें। किसी अन्य UPSC परीक्षा की तिथि या दस्तावेज़ संबंधी शर्त यहां लागू न मानें।
साक्षात्कार की तैयारी
मूल शैक्षणिक प्रमाणपत्र, अंकपत्र, जन्मतिथि प्रमाण, पहचान पत्र तथा लागू होने पर आरक्षण प्रमाणपत्र तैयार रखें। IES अभ्यर्थी आर्थिक सिद्धांत, भारतीय अर्थव्यवस्था और संबंधित नीतिगत विषयों की पुनरावृत्ति करें। ISS अभ्यर्थी सांख्यिकीय सिद्धांत, प्रतिचयन, अनुमान और व्यावहारिक अनुप्रयोगों का अभ्यास करें। ये अध्ययन सुझाव हैं, आयोग द्वारा नया घोषित पाठ्यक्रम नहीं।
