Correct Answer
C. MahamayaC.
Explanation
Mahamaya, also known as Queen Maya, was the mother of Siddhartha Gautama.
According to Buddhist tradition, she gave birth to Siddhartha at Lumbini while travelling toward her parental home.
She died shortly after his birth, and Siddhartha was raised by her sister Mahaprajapati Gautami.
Mahaprajapati later became extremely significant in Buddhist history because tradition credits her with becoming the first woman admitted to the Buddhist monastic order after repeatedly requesting ordination.
Yashodhara was Siddhartha's wife, while Sujata is traditionally associated with offering him milk-rice before his enlightenment.
Amrapali was a famous courtesan of Vaishali who became associated with Buddha and his teachings.
These names are often deliberately mixed in competitive-examination options, so their respective associations should be remembered.
