Correct Answer
B. SarnathB.
Explanation
After attaining enlightenment at Bodh Gaya, Buddha travelled to the Deer Park at Sarnath near present-day Varanasi and delivered his first sermon to five former companions.
This event is traditionally called Dharmachakra Pravartana, meaning 'Setting in Motion the Wheel of Dharma'.
The sermon is closely associated with the Four Noble Truths and the Middle Way.
Sarnath consequently became one of the four principal Buddhist pilgrimage centres.
Emperor Ashoka later erected monuments and a pillar there.
The Lion Capital from the Ashokan pillar at Sarnath was adopted as the State Emblem of India, while the Dharma Chakra appearing on it inspired the Ashoka Chakra in India's national flag.
For examinations, distinguish Sarnath from Bodh Gaya: enlightenment occurred at Bodh Gaya, whereas the first sermon was delivered at Sarnath.
