Correct Answerसही उत्तर
A. March 1946A. मार्च 1946
Explanationव्याख्या
According to the source, the Cabinet Mission came to India in March 1946.
It occupies an important place in India's constitutional history because the source associates it directly with the constitution-making body.
The book states that the Cabinet Mission was the mission that gave recognition to a constitution-making body.
Its members were Stafford Cripps, Pethick-Lawrence and A.
V.
Alexander.
The Mission's plan provided the framework for the Constituent Assembly.
According to the source, the total strength prescribed for the Constituent Assembly was 389.
Of these, 296 seats were allotted to British India and 93 representatives were to come from the princely states.
The source also states that four representatives were included from Chief Commissioners' provinces.
Representation was broadly calculated at the rate of one member for every ten lakh population.
The seats allotted to each British Indian province were distributed among three communities—Muslims, Sikhs and General—in proportion to their population.
Representatives of princely states were to be selected by the rulers of those states.
Thus, for examination purposes, March 1946 should be firmly associated with the arrival of the Cabinet Mission in India.
