A rectangle has an area of 2400 cm². If its length is reduced by 10 cm and its breadth is increased by 10 cm, the area increases by 100 cm². Find the perimeter of the original rectangle.

एक आयत का क्षेत्रफल 2400 cm² है। यदि उसकी लंबाई 10 cm घटा दी जाए और चौड़ाई 10 cm बढ़ा दी जाए, तो उसका क्षेत्रफल 100 cm² बढ़ जाता है। मूल आयत का परिमाप ज्ञात कीजिए।

Explanationव्याख्या

Let length = L and breadth = B.
LB = 2400 and (L − 10)(B + 10) = 2500.
Expanding gives 2400 + 10L − 10B − 100 = 2500 ⇒ L − B = 20.
With LB = 2400, we get L = 60 and B = 40.
Perimeter = 2(60 + 40) = 200 cm.

मान लें लंबाई = L और चौड़ाई = B।
LB = 2400 तथा (L − 10)(B + 10) = 2500।
इससे L − B = 20 मिलता है।
अतः L = 60 और B = 40।
परिमाप = 200 सेमी। ---
