Correct Answer
C. One-tenth of the total membershipC.
Explanation
The quorum for a sitting of the Lok Sabha is one-tenth of the total number of members of the House.
Article 100(3) provides the constitutional rule concerning quorum in either House of Parliament.
Quorum is the minimum number of members whose presence is required for the House to conduct business.
If the required number is not present, the presiding officer must act in accordance with the constitutional and procedural rules.
The same one-tenth principle applies to the Rajya Sabha.
Quorum should not be confused with the majority needed to pass a particular motion or Bill.
