Important Application Rule
A candidate applying for the Officer cadre can apply for only one Officer post: Scale I, Scale II or Scale III, subject to the notification. Office Assistant is a separate recruitment stream. Candidates should carefully choose the post for which their education and experience actually qualify them.
Educational Qualification
Office Assistant and Officer Scale I: Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University/equivalent is the broad basic qualification. Proficiency in the prescribed local language of the participating RRB is important; computer knowledge is desirable.
Officer Scale II General Banking Officer: Bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks plus two years' experience as an officer in a Bank or Financial Institution.
Scale II Specialist Officers: Qualification and experience are discipline-specific. IT requires the prescribed technology degree and relevant experience; CA requires the Chartered Accountant qualification and experience; Law requires the prescribed Law degree and professional experience; Treasury, Marketing and Agriculture posts require the specified professional degree and experience.
Officer Scale III: Bachelor's degree/equivalent with at least 50% marks and a minimum of five years' experience as an Officer in a Bank or Financial Institution, subject to the detailed notification.
Age Limit as on 1 September 2026
- Office Assistant: 18–28 years
- Officer Scale I: 18–30 years
- Officer Scale II: 21–32 years
- Officer Scale III: 21–40 years
SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen and other eligible categories receive relaxation according to IBPS/Government rules.
Application Fee
Current recruitment information reports ₹850 for General/OBC/EWS candidates and ₹175 for eligible SC/ST/PwBD categories, subject to the post/category conditions in the official notification. Candidates should verify the final amount shown by the IBPS application portal.
Selection Process
Office Assistant and Officer Scale I have preliminary and main examination stages. Scale II and Scale III follow the examination process specified for those officer posts. Interviews apply to Officer Scale I, II and III; Office Assistant does not have an interview stage. Final allotment also depends on vacancies, merit, participating RRB preferences and eligibility verification.
Local Language
Local-language proficiency can materially affect eligibility for participating RRBs. Candidates should examine the State/RRB-wise language table before selecting preferences instead of assuming Hindi or English is accepted everywhere.

1 सितंबर 2026 को Office Assistant 18–28, Scale I 18–30, Scale II 21–32 और Scale III 21–40 वर्ष है। Eligible categories को rules के अनुसार relaxation मिलेगा।
शुल्क एवं चयन
Current information में General/OBC/EWS के लिए ₹850 तथा eligible SC/ST/PwBD categories के लिए ₹175 fee reported है। Office Assistant और Scale I में preliminary तथा main stages होते हैं। Officer Scale I, II और III के लिए interview applicable है, जबकि Office Assistant में interview नहीं है।
