UPSSSC PET 2026 – Preliminary Eligibility Test
Latest Update: Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) is accepting applications for Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) 2026 under Advertisement No. 16-Exam/2026. The application deadline has been extended to 7 September 2026. PET is an eligibility/screening examination connected with various future UPSSSC Group-C recruitments; it is not a recruitment for one fixed number of vacancies.

Eligibility
Current PET 2026 information states that applicants must have passed at least Class 10/High School from a recognized Board or possess a higher qualification from a recognized university/institution in India. PET eligibility should not be confused with eligibility for every later UPSSSC recruitment. A future post may separately require graduation, diploma, technical qualification, typing, physical standards or another professional qualification.
Age Limit
The minimum age is 18 years and maximum age is 40 years as on 1 July 2026. Age relaxation is available to eligible categories according to UPSSSC/Uttar Pradesh Government rules. Candidates should verify their category-specific relaxation and certificate requirements in the official notification.
Application Fee
The current listing reports ₹185 for General/OBC, ₹95 for SC/ST and ₹25 for PH candidates. Online payment options include the modes supported by the application system. Applicants should verify the amount displayed on the official portal before payment and preserve the payment receipt.
Why PET Matters
UPSSSC uses PET as an initial eligibility/screening mechanism for various recruitments. A PET score by itself does not create a right to appointment. When UPSSSC advertises a particular post, candidates generally need to apply again and satisfy that recruitment's qualification, age and other conditions. Depending on the recruitment, later stages may include a main examination, typing/skill test, physical test, document verification or medical requirements.

वर्तमान PET information के अनुसार कम से कम Class 10/High School पास अभ्यर्थी आवेदन कर सकते हैं; recognized university/institution की higher qualification रखने वाले उम्मीदवार भी पात्र हो सकते हैं। ध्यान रखें कि PET qualify करने से भविष्य की प्रत्येक UPSSSC vacancy के लिए स्वतः eligibility नहीं मिलती। किसी specific recruitment में graduation, diploma, technical qualification, typing, physical standard या अन्य qualification अलग से मांगी जा सकती है।
आयु और शुल्क
