A forest department team recently arrested four members of a gang allegedly involved in the illegal felling of Khair trees in the Hastinapur Wildlife Sanctuary area.
हाल ही में वन विभाग की टीम ने हस्तिनापुर वन्यजीव अभयारण्य क्षेत्र में खैर के पेड़ों की अवैध कटाई में कथित रूप से शामिल एक गिरोह के चार सदस्यों को गिरफ्तार किया।

Vegetation | वनस्पति
The vegetation includes tall wet grasslands, dry short grasslands, scrub and plantations.
यहाँ की वनस्पति में ऊँची नम घासभूमि, सूखी छोटी घासभूमि, झाड़ियाँ और वृक्षारोपण क्षेत्र शामिल हैं।
Flora | प्रमुख वनस्पतियाँ
Important trees include Sal (Shorea robusta), Shisham (Dalbergia sissoo), Khair (Acacia catechu) and Jamun (Syzygium cumini).
यहाँ साल, शीशम, खैर और जामुन जैसे वृक्ष पाए जाते हैं।
Fauna | जीव-जंतु
- The sanctuary supports swamp deer or Barasingha, hog deer, chital and sambar. / यहाँ बारहसिंगा, हॉग डियर, चीतल और सांभर पाए जाते हैं।
- Sarus Crane, the state bird of Uttar Pradesh, is also associated with the region's wetlands. / उत्तर प्रदेश का राजकीय पक्षी सारस क्रेन भी इस क्षेत्र की आर्द्रभूमियों से जुड़ा है।
- The region is important for resident as well as migratory birds. / यह क्षेत्र स्थानीय और प्रवासी दोनों प्रकार के पक्षियों के लिए महत्वपूर्ण है।
Conservation Importance | संरक्षण महत्व
The sanctuary forms part of the wider Gangetic wetland and riverine landscape and provides habitat for diverse terrestrial and aquatic species.
यह अभयारण्य व्यापक गंगा आर्द्रभूमि एवं नदी तटीय परिदृश्य का हिस्सा है और अनेक स्थलीय तथा जलीय प्रजातियों को आवास प्रदान करता है।
