The Ministry of Panchayati Raj, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Tribal Affairs, is launching the Model Youth Gram Sabha initiative.

What is MYGS? | MYGS क्या है?
Model Youth Gram Sabha is an educational simulation that allows school students to participate in mock Gram Sabha proceedings.
Model Youth Gram Sabha एक शैक्षिक simulation है जिसमें स्कूली विद्यार्थी mock Gram Sabha की कार्यवाही में भाग लेते हैं।
The initiative seeks to strengthen Janbhagidari, civic awareness and understanding of participatory local governance.
इस पहल का उद्देश्य जनभागीदारी, नागरिक जागरूकता और सहभागी स्थानीय शासन की समझ को मजबूत करना है।
The concept draws inspiration from educational simulations such as Model United Nations, but focuses on grassroots democratic institutions.
इसकी अवधारणा Model United Nations जैसे शैक्षिक simulation से प्रेरित है, लेकिन इसका केंद्र जमीनी लोकतांत्रिक संस्थाएँ हैं।
Implementation | क्रियान्वयन
The programme is planned across more than 1,000 schools, including Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, Eklavya Model Residential Schools and State Government Schools.

Key Features | प्रमुख विशेषताएँ
- Students of Classes 9-12 participate in simulated local-governance roles. / कक्षा 9-12 के विद्यार्थी स्थानीय शासन की भूमिकाओं का simulation करेंगे।
- Students may play roles such as Sarpanch, ward member and village-level officials. / विद्यार्थी सरपंच, वार्ड सदस्य और ग्राम स्तर के अधिकारियों की भूमिका निभाएँगे।
- Mock Gram Sabha meetings will discuss local issues. / mock Gram Sabha बैठकों में स्थानीय मुद्दों पर चर्चा होगी।
- Students learn how village budgets and development plans are discussed and prepared. / विद्यार्थी ग्राम बजट और विकास योजनाओं की प्रक्रिया समझेंगे।
- Participating schools are to receive support for organising mock Gram Sabha sessions. / भाग लेने वाले स्कूलों को mock Gram Sabha आयोजित करने के लिए सहायता प्रदान की जाएगी।
