SSC CHSL Recruitment 2026 – 2,536 Tentative Vacancies
Latest Update: Staff Selection Commission has opened the Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination 2026 application process. The notification was issued on 7 September 2026 for approximately 2,536 tentative Group C vacancies including LDC, JSA, DEO and DEO Grade 'A'. Applications are open from 7 September to 7 October 2026, 11 PM. Fee payment closes on 8 October and the correction window is 14–16 October 2026.
Vacancies and Posts
The 2,536 figure is tentative and the final department-wise vacancy position may be updated by SSC. Posts include Lower Divisional Clerk, Junior Secretariat Assistant, Data Entry Operator and DEO Grade 'A' in Central Government Ministries, Departments and Offices.
Educational Qualification
For LDC/JSA and most DEO/DEO Grade 'A' posts, Class 12 or equivalent from a recognised Board/University is required. For specified DEO/DEO Grade 'A' posts in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Staff Selection Commission and Ministry of Culture, candidates require Class 12 in Science with Mathematics. The prescribed qualification must be possessed by the eligibility cut-off.
Age Limit
Age is 18–27 years as on 1 August 2026. Candidates should generally have been born between 2 August 1999 and 1 August 2008. SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/ESM and other eligible categories receive relaxation according to Government rules.
Application Fee
The notified fee is ₹100. Women and eligible SC, ST, PwBD and Ex-Servicemen candidates are exempt. Candidates should complete payment only through the official SSC system.
Salary
- LDC/JSA: Pay Level 2, ₹19,900–₹63,200
- DEO: Pay Level 4, ₹25,500–₹81,100
- Applicable higher DEO posts: Pay Level 5, ₹29,200–₹92,300
Allowances and deductions apply under Central Government rules.
Selection and Exam Pattern
Selection consists of Tier-I and Tier-II, including the applicable Skill Test/Typing Test and verification stages. Tier-I is a computer-based objective examination. Candidates should prepare from the 2026 notification because current reporting identifies changes such as sectional timing. The Tier-I and Tier-II examination dates are yet to be announced.
Documents and New Application Requirements
Keep Class 10 date-of-birth proof, Class 12 records, identity/Aadhaar details, reservation certificates where applicable and prescribed signature details ready. Current SSC application instructions also involve live photograph capture and may use Aadhaar authentication, so applicants should follow the portal instructions rather than uploading an old photograph where live capture is required.

चयन प्रक्रिया
Selection Tier-I और Tier-II के माध्यम से होगा। Applicable Skill Test/Typing Test और verification भी selection process का हिस्सा होंगे। 2026 pattern में sectional timing जैसे बदलाव reported हैं, इसलिए पुराने pattern के बजाय latest notification से तैयारी करें।
