Explanation / व्याख्या

Difference between the two candidates = 44% − 36% = 8%. Difference in their marks = 24 + 16 = 40. Thus 8% = 40, so total marks = 500. Passing marks = 36% of 500 + 24 = 180 + 24 = 204. Passing percentage = 204/500 × 100 = 40.8%. / दोनों अभ्यर्थियों के प्रतिशत का अंतर 8% तथा अंकों का अंतर 40 है। अतः कुल अंक = 500। उत्तीर्णांक = 180 + 24 = 204। इसलिए उत्तीर्ण प्रतिशत = 204/500 × 100 = 40.8%।
