24 August 2026 को Vice‑President Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan ने Musunuru, Eluru district, Andhra Pradesh में India’s first non‑GMO, high‑expansion popcorn maize hybrid seed का लोकार्पण किया। यह बीज Gourmet Popcornica द्वारा विकसित किया गया है। यह परियोजना आठ राज्यों में 17,500 से अधिक किसानों को सम्मिलित करती है और लगभग 40,000 acres के औसत कृषि क्षेत्र को कवर करती है। परियोजना में मक्का प्रसंस्करण, गुणवत्ता नियंत्रण और शीत भंडारण (cold storage) जैसे घटक शामिल हैं। इस पहल का उद्देश्य आयातित हाइब्रिड प्रौद्योगिकी पर निर्भरता कम करना और विदेशी मुद्रा की बचत करना है।

AIIA Launches Garbhini Mitra Course for Ayurveda Maternal Wellness
All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), New Delhi ने 24 August 2026 को 2026–2027 शैक्षणिक सत्र के लिए Garbhini Mitra नामक पाठ्यक्रम लॉन्च किया। यह छह‑माह का ऑफलाइन स्किल‑डेवलपमेंट प्रोग्राम है जो AIIA के कैंपस, Sarita Vihar, New Delhi में संचालित होगा। कक्षाएँ सोमवार से शुक्रवार, 3:00 PM से 5:00 PM तक होंगी और प्रत्येक बैच में कुल 20 students का intake capacity निर्धारित है। योग्यता के लिए Senior Secondary (10+2) उत्तीर्ण होना आवश्यक है तथा न्यूनतम आयु 18 वर्ष होनी चाहिए।

UPI Completes 10 Years as World’s Largest Real-Time Payment System
UPI ने 25th August 2026 को संचालन के 10 वर्ष पूरे किए; इसे 25th August 2016 को NPCI के द्वारा लॉन्च किया गया था और इसके ऊपर RBI की देखरेख है। इस दशक में वार्षिक लेनदेन की मात्रा FY 2016‑17 में 1.78 करोड़ से बढ़कर FY 2025‑26 में 24,162 करोड़ से अधिक हो गई। लेनदेन का कुल मूल्य ₹0.07 लाख करोड़ से बढ़कर लगभग ₹314 लाख करोड़ हो गया। 2026 तक औसत दैनिक लेनदेन 66 करोड़ तक पहुँच गया। IMF ने इसे real‑time payments में विश्व का नेता मान्यता दी और 2025 तक यह विश्व के real‑time payment transaction volume का 49% हिस्सा रखता था।
UPI 11 देशों में चालू है, जिनमें UAE, France, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Mauritius और Nepal शामिल हैं। प्लेटफॉर्म पर live banks की संख्या लॉन्च के समय 21 थी, जो July 2026 तक 741 हो गई। UPI का हिस्सा भारत के डिजिटल पेमेंट इकोसिस्टम में FY 2025‑26 के लिए 84% रहा। P2M मात्रा का 63% हिस्सा है और P2M लेनदेन में 86% लेनदेन ₹500 से कम हैं; P2P लेनदेन कुल लेनदेन मूल्य का 71% बनाते हैं। मासिक वॉल्यूम पहली बार May 2026 में 2,300 करोड़ पार कर गया और जुलाई 2026 में रिकॉर्ड 2,366 करोड़ दर्ज हुआ। NPCI की स्थापना 2008 में हुई थी, इसका मुख्यालय Mumbai में है और यह RBI तथा Indian Banks’ Association की संयुक्त पहल के रूप में स्थापित किया गया था।

Third Meeting of the India‑Cambodia Joint Working Group on Trade and Investment 24 August 2026 को Phnom Penh, Cambodia में हुई। इस वार्ता के संदर्भ में बताया गया कि India‑Cambodia व्यापार में 36% से अधिक वृद्धि हुई और यह 2025‑26 में USD 406.78 million तक पहुँच गया, जबकि पूर्व में यह USD 299 million था। April–June 2026 तिमाही में वर्ष‑प्रतिवर्ष वृद्धि 63.25% दर्ज की गई। Cambodia ASEAN में भारत का आठवाँ सबसे बड़ा व्यापारिक साझेदार है।

Ministry of Communications: उन्नत Dak MITRA तथा Dak Sewa ऐप्स और 14 नवीनीकृत डाकघरों का उद्घाटन
24 अगस्त 2026 को Ministry of Communications ने Dak MITRA और Dak Sewa ऐप्स के उन्नत संस्करण लॉन्च किए और Prayagraj, Ayodhya Nagar (Nagpur), Vasant Kunj (Delhi), Shillong सहित कई स्थानों पर 14 नवीनीकृत डाकघर उद्घाटित किए। Dak MITRA को Centre for Excellence in Postal Technology (CEPT) ने DoP IT 2.0 Modernization प्रोजेक्ट के तहत विकसित किया है और यह 1.4 लाख से अधिक Branch Post Offices के लिए एक एकीकृत प्लेटफॉर्म के रूप में कार्य करेगा। Dak MITRA को Android-based handheld devices पर तैनात किया गया है ताकि रियल-टाइम, पेपरलेस लेनदेन संभव हों; यह Aadhaar-based biometric e-KYC, doorstep पर नकद जमा/निकासी और PLI/RPLI प्रीमियम संग्रह की सुविधा देता है।

India at UNCCD COP17: 21.76 million hectares भूमि का पुनर्स्थापन
24 अगस्त 2026 को Union Minister Bhupender Yadav ने Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia में UNCCD COP17 के अवसर पर घोषणा की कि भारत ने 2011–2020 के दौरान 21.76 million hectares भूमि को पुनर्स्थापित किया है। इन पुनर्स्थापना गतिविधियों से लगभग 1.22 billion person-days का रोजगार उत्पन्न हुआ। साथ ही भारत ने Bonn Challenge में अपनी प्रतिबद्धता बढ़ाकर 2030 तक 26 million hectares क्षतिग्रस्त भूमि पुनर्स्थापित करने का लक्ष्य निर्धारित किया।

4 अगस्त 2026 को Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu में आयोजित समिट के अवसर पर MeitY Startup Hub ने GENESIS Entrepreneur-in-Residence 3.0 (GENESIS EIR 3.0) प्रोग्राम लॉन्च किया। यह प्रोग्राम प्रत्येक स्टार्टअप को incubation और mentorship के लिए अधिकतम ₹10 लाख तक का फंड प्रदान करता है और लक्षित परियोजनाएँ Technology Readiness Level 1–4 (Proof of Concept और prototypes) पर होनी चाहिए।

Tamil Nadu: TN-ARIVU AI और उभरती तकनीकों का पाठ्यक्रम तथा शिक्षा योजनाएँ
25 अगस्त 2026 को Tamil Nadu सरकार ने TN-ARIVU नामक AI और उभरती तकनीकों का पाठ्यक्रम तथा संबंधित शिक्षा योजनाओं की घोषणा की, जिसका कुल आउटले ₹44,527 करोड़ है। TN-ARIVU का कार्यान्वयन शैक्षणिक वर्ष 2027-28 से शुरू होगा। पाठ्यक्रम फ्रेमवर्क तीन स्तरों में विभाजित हैं: ARIVU Foundation (Classes I–V), ARIVU Discovery (Classes VI–VIII) और ARIVU Edge (Classes IX–XII)।

WHO ने पाँच अफ्रीकी देशों में cVDPV2 प्रकोप के समाप्ति की पुष्टि की
21 अगस्त 2026 को WHO ने घोषणा की कि Burundi, Ghana, Guinea-Bissau, Republic of Congo और Uganda में फैलने वाले पोलियो वायरस टाइप 2 (cVDPV2) के प्रकोप आधिकारिक रूप से समाप्त माने जाते हैं। यह आकलन Independent Outbreak Response Assessment (OBRA) के आधार पर किया गया, जिसे जनवरी से जून 2026 के बीच सम्पन्न किया गया था।
देश-विशेष टिप्पणियाँ यह हैं कि Republic of Congo में वायरस की आखिरी पहचान दिसंबर 2023 में हुई थी; Burundi में type 2 प्रकोप मार्च 2023 में घोषित किया गया था; Uganda ने मई 2024 में पहचान के बाद अपनी निगरानी तीव्र कर दी थी; और Guinea-Bissau में जुलाई 2021 के बाद कोई पहचान नहीं हुई थी। अफ्रीकी क्षेत्र ने 2025 में अपने पोलियो प्रयोगशाला नेटवर्क के आधुनिकीकरण का काम पूरा किया, जिससे वायरस की पहचान का समय कम हुआ। WHO ने बताया कि मुख्य लक्ष्य उच्च-गुणवत्ता वाले टीकाकरण अभियानों और मजबूत नियमित टीकाकरण के माध्यम से प्रतिरक्षा-खंडों को संबोधित करना था।

21 अगस्त 2026 को Territorial Army और CyberPeace के सहयोग से तीसरी राष्ट्रीय-स्तरीय हैकाथॉन Terrier Cyber Quest 2026 (TCQ 3.0) लॉन्च की गई। इस पहल का उद्देश्य राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा से संबंधित AI, साइबरसुरक्षा और सूचना-क्षेत्र के चुनौतियों के लिए स्वदेशी समाधान विकसित करना है।
