Bihar STET 2026 – Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test
Latest Update: Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) is conducting the Bihar Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test (STET) 2026 under Advertisement No. P.R.183/2026. Online applications started on 17 August 2026 and the deadline has been extended to 15 September 2026. The fee-payment deadline is also 15 September. The examination date will be notified later. STET is an eligibility examination; it is not a direct recruitment notification for a fixed number of teacher posts.

Paper I and Paper II
Paper I relates to eligibility for Secondary Teacher level, generally Classes 9–10, while Paper II relates to Senior Secondary/Higher Secondary level, generally Classes 11–12. Candidates should select the subject and paper strictly according to the qualification rules. Passing STET establishes eligibility subject to applicable rules; appointment requires participation in the relevant teacher recruitment whenever it is separately advertised.
Educational Qualification
For Secondary Teacher, Paper I, the current notification summary states that candidates generally require a Bachelor's degree in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks together with B.Ed. For Senior Secondary Teacher, Paper II, a postgraduate degree in the concerned subject with Second Division together with B.Ed. is stated, with B.Ed. not required for Computer Science under the summarized condition. SC, ST, EBC, BC and Divyang candidates are reported to receive 5% relaxation in qualifying academic marks. Because subject-wise combinations can differ, applicants must read the official subject eligibility provisions before choosing a paper.
Age Limit
Age is calculated as on 1 August 2026. Minimum age is 21 years. The current notice summary gives maximum age of 37 years for unreserved male candidates, 40 years for unreserved female and BC/EBC male and female candidates, and 42 years for SC/ST male and female candidates. Other relaxation is governed by BSEB/Bihar rules.
Application Fee
For one paper, General/EWS/BC/EBC and candidates of other states are listed at ₹960, while SC/ST/PwD candidates are listed at ₹760. For both Paper I and Paper II, the corresponding amounts are ₹1,440 and ₹1,140. Online payment methods include the options supported by the registration portal.
Selection / Examination Mode
Bihar STET 2026 is conducted through a Computer Based Test (CBT). Candidates should separately study the official syllabus and examination pattern for their paper and subject. The Board will issue exam-date and admit-card instructions later. Applicants should preserve their registration credentials because they may be required for downloading subsequent examination documents.

नवीनतम जानकारी: बिहार विद्यालय परीक्षा समिति Advertisement No. P.R.183/2026 के अंतर्गत Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test 2026 आयोजित कर रही है। Online application 17 अगस्त 2026 से शुरू हुआ और अंतिम तिथि बढ़ाकर 15 सितंबर 2026 कर दी गई है। Fee payment भी 15 सितंबर तक किया जा सकता है। परीक्षा तिथि बाद में घोषित होगी। यह teacher eligibility examination है, किसी निश्चित संख्या में शिक्षक पदों की सीधी भर्ती नहीं।
Paper I और Paper II
Paper I सामान्यतः कक्षा 9–10 के Secondary Teacher level के लिए है, जबकि Paper II कक्षा 11–12 के Senior Secondary/Higher Secondary level के लिए है। Subject का चयन अपनी academic qualification और official eligibility conditions के अनुसार करें। STET qualify करने से पात्रता प्राप्त होती है; शिक्षक नियुक्ति के लिए संबंधित recruitment आने पर अलग प्रक्रिया पूरी करनी होगी।
शैक्षणिक योग्यता
वर्तमान notification summary के अनुसार Paper I के लिए संबंधित subject में कम से कम 50% अंकों के साथ Bachelor's degree तथा B.Ed. आवश्यक है। Paper II के लिए संबंधित subject में Second Division के साथ postgraduate degree और B.Ed. की शर्त बताई गई है; Computer Science के लिए summarized condition में B.Ed. आवश्यक नहीं बताया गया है। SC/ST/EBC/BC/Divyang categories को academic marks में 5% relaxation रिपोर्ट की गई है। Subject-wise conditions अलग हो सकती हैं, इसलिए official notification पढ़ना आवश्यक है।
