English: Goa will host the 57th International Film Festival of India, popularly known as IFFI, from 20 to 28 November 2026. Preparations for the festival were reviewed during the first Steering Committee meeting held in New Delhi on 21 August 2026 under the chairmanship of Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Dr L. Murugan. The 57th edition aims to strengthen India's global cinematic presence while providing greater opportunities to emerging filmmakers and young creative professionals.

English: The International Film Festival of India is one of Asia's prominent film festivals. It was first organised in 1952 and over time developed into a major international platform for cinema. The festival brings together Indian and foreign films, directors, actors, producers, critics and other members of the global film community.

English: Filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker has been appointed Festival Director for the 57th IFFI. He earlier served as Jury President for International Cinema at IFFI 2024. Gowariker is widely known for films such as Lagaan, which was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. The Festival Director helps shape the artistic vision, curation and execution of the festival.
