The National Cooperative Development Corporation remains one of India's principal institutions for promoting and financing the cooperative sector. It supports cooperatives engaged in agriculture as well as a wide range of non-farm economic activities.

NCDC is a statutory corporation under the Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India. It was established under the National Co-operative Development Corporation Act, 1962.

NCDC promotes and strengthens farmer cooperatives with the objective of increasing agricultural production and productivity and creating post-harvest infrastructure.
NCDC कृषि उत्पादन और उत्पादकता बढ़ाने तथा फसल कटाई के बाद आवश्यक आधारभूत संरचना विकसित करने के उद्देश्य से किसान सहकारी संस्थाओं को प्रोत्साहित और मजबूत करता है।
Post-Harvest Infrastructure | फसल कटाई के बाद की आधारभूत संरचना
It provides assistance for processing, storage, cold chains, marketing of agricultural produce and the supply of seeds, fertilisers and other agricultural inputs.

NCDC operates specialised schemes such as Nandini Sahakar for women-led cooperatives, Yuva Sahakar for young cooperative entrepreneurs, Ayushman Sahakar for healthcare infrastructure and Swayam Shakti Sahakar for strengthening cooperative participation.
NCDC महिलाओं के नेतृत्व वाली cooperatives के लिए Nandini Sahakar, युवा cooperative entrepreneurs के लिए Yuva Sahakar, healthcare infrastructure के लिए Ayushman Sahakar तथा cooperative participation को मजबूत करने के लिए Swayam Shakti Sahakar जैसी विशेष योजनाएँ संचालित करता है।
