Sunabeda Wildlife Sanctuary is situated in Nuapada district of western Odisha along the border with Chhattisgarh.

Area and Landscape | क्षेत्रफल और भू-दृश्य
The sanctuary extends over roughly 600 square kilometres and contains an extensive plateau, deep valleys, canyons and numerous waterfalls.
अभयारण्य लगभग 600 वर्ग किलोमीटर क्षेत्र में फैला है और इसमें विशाल plateau, गहरी घाटियाँ, canyons तथा अनेक waterfalls पाए जाते हैं।

Sunabeda lies close to the Udanti and Sitanadi protected landscapes of neighbouring Chhattisgarh. This wider landscape has importance for wildlife movement across the Odisha-Chhattisgarh boundary.

The sanctuary forms an important catchment of the Jonk River, which is a tributary of the Mahanadi river system.
यह अभयारण्य Jonk River का महत्वपूर्ण catchment क्षेत्र है। Jonk, Mahanadi नदी प्रणाली की सहायक नदी है।
Vegetation | वनस्पति
The landscape is dominated largely by tropical dry deciduous forests. Important plants include teak, bija, sissoo, asan, mahua and several other dry-deciduous forest species.
यहाँ मुख्यतः tropical dry deciduous forests पाए जाते हैं। प्रमुख वनस्पतियों में teak, bija, sissoo, asan, mahua तथा अन्य शुष्क पर्णपाती प्रजातियाँ शामिल हैं।
Fauna | जीव-जंतु
The landscape supports species such as leopard, sloth bear, sambar, chital, gaur, barking deer and several birds. The wider Sunabeda-Udanti landscape is also important for wild buffalo conservation and movement.
यह क्षेत्र leopard, sloth bear, sambar, chital, gaur, barking deer तथा अनेक पक्षियों को habitat प्रदान करता है। व्यापक Sunabeda-Udanti landscape wild buffalo conservation और movement के लिए भी महत्वपूर्ण है।
