Article 43B deals with the promotion of cooperative societies.

They can operate in fields such as agriculture, credit, housing, dairy production and other economic activities.
The constitutional emphasis on voluntary formation and democratic control reflects the distinctive character of cooperatives: they are intended to function through participation of their members rather than simply as ordinary government departments.
Autonomous functioning and professional management are equally important because democratic membership alone does not guarantee effective administration.
Article 43B therefore combines democratic participation with institutional efficiency.
